Woody Marks, Tony Pollard, Jordan Mason: Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em Picks for Fantasy Football Week 7

Jordan Mason - Fantasy Football Waiver Wire, Draft Sleepers, Draft Rankings

Should I start Woody Marks, Tony Pollard, Jordan Mason for Week 7? Fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks and recommendations for the 2025 NFL season.

Do you have Start/Sit questions? RotoBaller has answers!

The running back landscape isn't nearly as injury-riddled as the wide receiver one is, but there are two high-profile backs (James Cook and Derrick Henry) on bye. And, with many wide receivers possibly sidelined, fantasy managers may be looking at running backs for their FLEX spots.

Should fantasy managers start Woody Marks, Tony Pollard, or Jordan Mason in Week 7? Let's dive in and find out.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Should I Start Woody Marks for Fantasy Football?

The Woody Marks hype train came to a screeching halt during Houston's Week 5 over the Baltimore Ravens.

Marks, who led the Texans' backfield in touches in Week 4, saw Nick Chubb get 11 carries to his seven. Without a catch, Marks ended the game with 2.4 fantasy points.

But it's not all doom and gloom. Marks played more snaps than his veteran counterpart in Week 5. Following the game, a report came out that DeMeco Ryans and his staff view Marks as the pass-catching back and Chubb as the early-down option. Obviously, Marks is still in the mix to get some first or second-down carries.

So, instead of viewing Marks as a weekly FLEX option, we need to view him in a matchup-dependent lens. The Texans won't be leading in many games like they were against Baltimore. Including this week, the Texans face four straight opponents with a winning record.

The matchup against Seattle favors Marks. On the ground, Seattle gives up 61.8 yards per game and 3.1 yards per carry. That's the second-best run defense in the NFL. Plus, they've surrendered the most receptions to running backs (43) this season.

Marks is a risky play, but if the game script plays out the way it's predicted, he could get enough work in the passing game to sneak into RB2 or FLEX territory.

Should I Start Tony Pollard for Fantasy Football?

The Tony Pollard bellcow era has ended with a sputter.

Tennessee's starting running back got four full games, and most of a fifth, without Tyjae Spears to cement his spot atop the depth chart. He never topped 15 PPR points, fell under 10 twice, and finished as the RB25 through the first five weeks. Week 6 may have been the beginning of the end for Pollard, who is now losing snaps and touches to Spears at a significant level.

Spears took the field for 59% of the snaps against the Raiders, while Pollard dipped below 43%. That's the first time he's been under 70% this season. Pollard still handled more touches (12 to 9), but 12 touches on one of the worst offenses in the league won't cut it. Until the offense is fixed, Pollard is only viable with volume.

It doesn't make things easier that the New England Patriots are next on the docket. They haven't allowed a running back to exceed 50 rushing yards this season and are seventh in fewest fantasy points allowed to the position.

Pollard definitely isn't an RB2 candidate anymore, and this week, he may not even be a FLEX option. Resort to Pollard at your own peril.

Should I Start Jordan Mason for Fantasy Football?

Is Philadelphia secretly a run-funnel defense? Look, they're no Miami or Chicago, but the Eagles' run defense has been a weak point so far this season. The unit is allowing 100.3 yards per game and one touchdown per game to opposing running backs.

Cam Skattebo nearly hit the century mark on his own last week against the Philly front seven. Granted, defensive tackle Jalen Carter will be back in the Week 7 lineup, and he makes a tremendous impact up front.

Still, Jordan Mason is set to handle a heavy workload in the final game before Aaron Jones Sr. (hamstring) is eligible to return from injured reserve. Mason has scored double-digit fantasy points in every game without Jones, and the Eagles have let a running back score at least 15 PPR points in five games this season.

Mason is squarely in the RB2 range and can be started in nearly every league, regardless of format.
