Time to Drop Jerry Jeudy? Fantasy Football Week 6 Waiver Wire Outlook (2025)

Jerry Jeudy - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL Injury News

Should I drop Jerry Jeudy for fantasy football Week 6? Is Jerry Jeudy a safe player to cut? Read the fantasy football waivers outlook.

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Jerry Jeudy has had an underwhelming start to his 2025 season, hauling in only 15 of his 35 targets for 197 yards. Jeudy broke out last season during his first year in Cleveland, finishing with the sixth-most receiving yards in the league. He hasn't yet found the same success this season as the Browns offense is currently tied with the Titans for the fewest points in the league.

Jeudy still leads the team in targets and receiving yards, but he's also left a lot of yardage on the field with bad drops. His five drops are tied for the most in the league. The 26-year-old is still very talented, but his poor play and poor offensive environment have led to a disappointing outcome in fantasy.

But there is still some time for him to turn it around. So should you drop Jerry Jeudy and search elsewhere for WRs, or is he worth hanging on to? Let's dive in!

Should I Drop Jerry Jeudy in Fantasy Football?

The stock for Jeudy should be on the rise a bit with rookie QB Dillon Gabriel taking over for the now Cincinnati Bengal Joe Flacco. Flacco was the worst QB in the league on a down-to-down basis, posting an abysmal 35.4% passing success rate. It's not too surprising that a 40-year-old Flacco has floundered to this level behind the third-worst pass-blocking offensive line, according to PFF. His accuracy has fallen off significantly as a result, ranking 29th out of 35 qualified QBs in Accuracy% (71.8%), per FTN Fantasy.

I was impressed with Gabriel's NFL debut in London against a Minnesota defense coordinated by Brian Flores. The stats won't jump off the page, as he completed 19 of 33 passes for 190 yards and two touchdowns while adding two rushes for five yards. He was able to operate in structure and layer in a couple of really nice throws in between defenders. The accuracy was spotty at times, but the Browns' offense is in a better spot moving forward with Gabriel under center.

It's worth noting the play-calling tendencies for his first start, as they heavily leaned into their promising rookie Quinshon Judkins. Cleveland had a -10.6% pass rate over expected in Week 5, much higher than their previous season high of -6.8%. It could be a specific matchup thing, as Minnesota has struggled to stop the run. Or it was the head coach protecting his rookie, making his first career start.

That will be an important number to pay attention to for Jeudy. His 2024 breakout was largely fueled by the Browns throwing the ball a ton, and he ran the most routes of any player in the league. In addition, it's worth pointing out that Jeudy was slow out of the gate last season with Deshaun Watson at QB.

Through seven weeks last season, he had caught half of his 42 targets for 266 yards and one touchdown, ranking as WR70 in PPR points per game (7.7). Then, from Week 8 on, with mostly Jameis Winston at QB, Jeudy caught 69 of 102 targets for 963 yards and three touchdowns. He only trailed Ja'Marr Chase and Justin Jefferson in receiving yards during that time. He was tied with Jaxon Smith-Njigba for WR7 in PPR points per game (19).

I'd still view Jeudy as a hold in most leagues. He is still the clear top target in the offense, and I'd expect him to bounce back from his poor start. Fantasy managers shouldn't expect a run like last season, as that was the perfect runway for him to produce. But a bounce-back of some capacity is a good bet.

Who Should I Pickup for Fantasy Football?

There has been a wave of injuries at the top of the WR position this year. That has led us to a few interesting options to consider off the waiver wire. The unexpected breakout player of Week 5 began on Thursday Night Football, when Kendrick Bourne went off for 10 catches and 142 yards. He should still be viewed as the top WR option off the wire as the 49ers continue to deal with a ton of injuries to their skill guys.

Christian Watson is another option to consider, as he is ready to begin practicing this week after recovering from an ACL injury. He is an explosive playmaker with great size, but the role is uncertain when he returns.

Another player who will be set to return from injury is Jalen Coker. Coker was unexpectedly placed on IR before the season with a quad injury, but fully practiced on Wednesday and looks ready to return in Week 6. There's plenty of opportunity for targets behind rookie WR Tetairoa McMillan, and his return could provide an overall boost to Carolina's passing attack.
