Alex Vlasic Traveling With Blackhawks
Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Alex Vlasic (lower body) has traveled with the team for Tuesday's season opener against the Florida Panthers, Mario Tirabassi of CHGO Sports reports. Vlasic sustained a skate cut on his leg in a preseason game against the Minnesota Wild on Sept. 28. The freak injury has left Vlasic's status for opening night uncertain, but the fact that he's traveling with the team is a positive sign. The Blackhawks also visit Boston this week before playing their first home games. Vlasic was productive on both ends for Chicago last season, recording 30 points (four goals, 26 assists) and 157 blocks in 82 games.
