The New York Jets announced that they have activated edge rusher Jermaine Johnson (Achilles) from the Active/Physically Unable to Perform list. Johnson is now ready to return to practice after recovering from a ruptured right Achilles that he suffered in a Week 2 win over the Tennessee Titans last season. The 2022 first-round pick (No. 26 overall) broke out in his most recent full season, 2023, when he tallied 55 tackles (11 for loss), 16 quarterback hits, 7.5 sacks, and an interception that he returned for a touchdown. Johnson earned a Pro Bowl nod that year, but he was unable to build on that performance last season because of his injury. Indications are that the 26-year-old will be ready for the Jets' season opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sept. 7.--Connor ByrneRead More News
