CBB DFS: DraftKings Daily Fantasy College Basketball Picks - Today's Top Lineups (1/5/25)

Brooks Barnhizer - College Basketball Rankings, NCAA CBB DFS Lineup Picks - icon rotoballer

Today's DraftKings CBB DFS lineup picks for 1/5/25. Mike M's top daily fantasy college basketball sleepers to build winning NCAA DFS lineups on DraftKings.

We have a nice Sunday slate since the NFL promises to be boring this week. It's heavy on the Big Ten (18), but we still have a couple of other heavyweights out there. We start this off with a high noon showdown between Indiana and Penn State in Happy Valley.

Next up is Northwestern, heading to West Lafayette to take on Purdue. Providence heads to Hartford to take on UConn. Maryland heads west to take on Duck U. Illinois is also on the left coast, facing Washington in Seattle. Kansas gets a break from the ice and snow in sunny Orlando to take on Central Florida. We end this in Memphis, with North Texas in town.

This article will provide you with my daily fantasy college basketball lineup picks on DraftKings on 1/5/25, starting at noon EST. I’ll give multiple player suggestions at guard and forward, aiming to highlight one option at the salary scale's high, middle, and lower levels. Good luck, RotoBallers.

Today's DraftKings Guards - CBB DFS Lineup Picks

Brooks Barnhizer, Northwestern ($10.8K)

Barnhizer has been a very good player over the last two years, but he has taken that next step this year. He has at least 34 DraftKings points in every game and has scored over 50 in four straight. He's the only player who produces 50s on a nightly basis.

Kylan Boswell, Illinois ($7.2K)

Boswell has been outstanding in the last three games, putting up 118 DraftKings points in that span. This game likely won't stay close, but the Illini blew the doors off of Oregon on Thursday, and Boswell still played 31 minutes. He'll get enough production to satisfy this price tag.

Zeke Mayo, Kansas ($6.9K)

The Jayhawks are starving for an outside scorer. Mayo, the Lawrence native, has finally answered the call after transferring from South Dakota State. Mayo has scored 78 points over the last three games. He is the only reliable offensive force for the Jayhawks right now.

Selton Miguel, Maryland ($5K)

Miguel was a good player at Kansas State and became a star in South Florida. Now, he's toiling away as one of the perimeter playmakers for Maryland. Miguel's strength is his scoring, but if he goes cold, he has a hard time hitting value.

Also consider: Braden Smith, Purdue ($10.4K); Ace Baldwin Jr., Penn State ($9.4K); Keyshawn Hall, Central Florida ($7.1K); Myles Rice, Indiana ($6.4K); Vazoumana Diallo, Washington ($6.2K); Fletcher Loyer, Purdue ($6K); Trey Galloway, Indiana ($5.5K); Dallan Coleman, Central Florida ($4.7K)

Today's DraftKings Forwards - CBB DFS Lineup Picks

Oumar Ballo, Indiana ($9.8K)

Ballo returned from a team-imposed suspension to post 42 DraftKings points against Rutgers. He's fine and will enjoy another plus matchup against Penn State. He could have a huge game with Malik Reneau out. I've long been convinced that the only player who can stop Oumar Ballo is Oumar Ballo.

Yanic Konan Niederhauser, Penn State ($7.3K)

It's going to be a fun clash between Ballo and Niederhauser, but they are very different players. Niederhauser is a little more polished offensively. Both are good on the boards and in rim protection. The price is good enough on Niederhauser where I can see him used in GPPs today. This isn't an elite matchup, but he's good enough to make it work.

Dain Dainja, Memphis ($6.4K)

It took a bit for Dainja to find his footing in Memphis, but he has scored in double figures in five of the last six games. Fouls are an issue for Dainja (he has only played 39 minutes in the last two games thanks to foul trouble), but Memphis is a deep enough team that they just tell him to go out there and play hard.

It hurts his bottom line, but it also allows Dainja to play hard when he's in there. That raises his floor and is a good thing in most games. Dainja can dominate inside against North Texas.

Samson Johnson, Connecticut ($5.2K)

Johnson filled the void on Wednesday when Liam McKneeley went down with an ankle injury. Johnson won't carry the load like McKneeley did, but he should see around 25-28 minutes per game instead of less than 20. The price hasn't been adjusted yet, so enjoy the discount!

Also consider: Hunter Dickinson, Kansas ($10K); Alex Karaban, Connecticut ($8.9K); Derik Queen, Maryland ($8.5K); Mackenzie Mgbako, Indiana ($6.8K); Moustapha Thiam, Central Florida ($5.6K); Moussa Cisse, Memphis ($5.4K); Supreme Cook, Oregon ($4.4K); Luke Goode, Indiana ($3.9K)
