Week 9 of the 2024 NFL season is almost behind us. It was an exciting week of football, with a lot of games going down to the wire, including the afternoon slate ending with an overtime game between the Rams and Seahawks. Below, you'll find some wide receivers that you should be targeting on the fantasy football waiver wire ahead of Week 9. Not all of these waiver wire options are the same. Some players may be better in PPR or deeper leagues, so it’s not a one-size-fits-all comparison. Use your best judgment when deciding which of these players is the right fit for your roster.

Wide Receiver Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Pickups

Jerry Jeudy, Cleveland Browns - 48% rostered

Game 2 of the Jameis Winston era in Cleveland showed that the team is going to throw a lot of passes. They might not be high-value passes, but targets are targets. Jerry Jeudy was targeted 11 times on Sunday, catching seven passes for 73 yards. He now has 19 targets over the past two games and over 70 receiving yards in both.

While Cedric Tillman appears to be the No. 1 guy in Cleveland, Jeudy isn't far behind. He's got the highest floor of any player available in 50% or more of leagues.

Quentin Johnston, Los Angeles Chargers - 15% rostered

Quentin Johnston returned after missing the past two games with an ankle injury but returned with a bang, catching four of his five targets for 118 yards and a touchdown. That included a 66-yard touchdown.

The second-year wideout has played six games this season and has found the end zone four times in that span. While Ladd McConkey has established himself as the top receiver for the Chargers, a healthy Johnston provides a great complement there due to his scoring upside.

Jalen Tolbert, Dallas Cowboys - 23% rostered

Jalen Tolbert could have some appeal in Week 10 against the Eagles depending on how the injury situation shakes out in Dallas. CeeDee Lamb suffered a shoulder injury this week and Dak Prescott suffered a hamstring injury. If Lamb misses next week and Prescott doesn't, Tolbert could be in for a big game.

Tolbert was targeted six times this week, catching three of those passes for 19 yards and a score. He's a solid No. 2 receiver across from Lamb, but how he could look if pressed into being a No. 1 is a mystery.

DeMario Douglas, New England Patriots - 22% rostered

New England played an exciting game against the Titans, pulling out a 20-17 win. DeMario Douglas wasn't a huge part of the win, but he posted solid numbers, catching seven of his nine targets for 35 yards. That's decent in full PPR, but not very good in standard.

That's the thing with Douglas: New England uses him a lot in short-yardage situations. His yardage total won't be huge, but he has nine targets in four different games this season.

Xavier Legette, Carolina Panthers - 27% rostered

The Panthers traded Diontae Johnson, handing the No. 1 receiver role to rookie Xavier Legette. That role only has so much upside in an offense like this one, but Legette did score a touchdown for the second game in a row this week.

He had just 33 receiving yards and hasn't topped 35 yards since Week 4, so while he appears to be a threat to score a touchdown each week, his fantasy value is almost entirely dependent on those scores. He's got them in three of the last four games, so there's plenty of reason to bet on the touchdown upside.

Deeper Wide Receiver Fantasy Football Pickups For Week 10

Demarcus Robinson, Los Angeles Rams - 12% rostered

Puka Nacua threw a punch this week and was ejected. With him sidelined for much of the game, Demarcus Robinson was targeted nine times, catching six passes for 92 yards and two touchdowns. With the Rams receiving duo of Nacua and Cooper Kupp at full strength, Robinson probably doesn't make much of an impact.

The Rams never seem to have those two together for long, so Robinson is worth a roster spot in deep leagues. Robinson has scored four touchdowns in the last two games. That level of scoring isn't sustainable, but it displays how high his fantasy ceiling is.

Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, Tennessee Titans - 1% rostered

I've been really intrigued by Nick Westbrook-Ikhine since the DeAndre Hopkins trade. Last week, he caught two passes for 39 yards and a touchdown. This week, he was targeted a season-high six times and brought in five of those for 50 yards and another touchdown.

In fact, NWI has a touchdown in four consecutive games. On one hand, that's obviously very intriguing. On the other, he has just 10 targets over that span, half of which came this week. There's an upside as he just won't stop finding the end zone, but this is an offense that can be hard to trust.

Parker Washington, Jacksonville Jaguars - 4% rostered

Injuries forced Parker Washington into the No. 2 role this week, and he actually wound up with more targets than Brian Thomas Jr., as Washington was looked at six times. He caught three of those for 41 yards.

If Gabe Davis is out again this week, Washington has some streaming appeal against the Vikings in Week 10. It's a risky play, but he would see a decent amount of targets in a relatively good matchup.

Ray-Ray McCloud, Atlanta Falcon - 16% rostered

Drake London left Sunday's game against the Cowboys with a hip injury in the first quarter and didn't return to the game. That opened up an opportunity for Ray-Ray McCloud, who caught three passes for 28 yards and a touchdown. He has streaming appeal if London misses time, but he hasn't had over 30 yards in a game since Week 5.

Elijah Moore, Cleveland Browns - 14% rostered

Jeudy and Tillman are the main beneficiaries of Cleveland starting Winston, but Elijah Moore has been targeted 21 times over the last two weeks. After a big Week 8, he caught just three of his nine targets for 28 yards this weekend. His floor is much lower than his teammates, but the targets give him a fairly high ceiling.

Robert Woods, Houston Texans - 0% rostered

The Texans won't have Nico Collins for at least one more week, so Robert Woods will serve as the No. 2 receiver against the Lions next week. He caught two of his three targets for 44 yards this week. He can be a streaming WR4/5 option this week.

Joshua Palmer, Los Angeles Chargers - 13% rostered

With Quentin Johnston back, Joshua Palmer looks like the No. 3 option for the Chargers, but that could be a useful fantasy role as his big-play upside has led to three consecutive games with over 60 receiving yards.

I think producing like this on the relatively low volume he's had isn't super sustainable, but he has a higher ceiling than a lot of other guys on the wire, even if the floor is low.

Noah Brown, Washington Commanders - 2% rostered

Maybe I'm too hesitant here to embrace Noah Brown. After last week's Hail Mary touchdown, Brown led the Commanders in targets with six this week, catching five of those for 60 yards.

Brown has 50 or more yards in three of the past four games, but I don't know—I just don't know exactly what to think about his upside. He has big play upside, but I fear his floor remains extremely low.
