Fantasy Football Injuries to Watch for Week 7 Lineups - Tua Tagovailoa, Nick Chubb, Rashid Shaheed, Dallas Goedert, more

Chris Olave - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL Injury News

Aidin Ebrahimi looks at key fantasy football injuries and injury updates to watch for Week 7 of the 2024 season, including Tua Tagovailoa, Nick Chubb, Rashid Shaheed, and more.

The 2024 NFL season is in full swing, and we're now on our way to Week 7 after an exciting Week 6. After Week 5 saw good QB play and disappointing RB play, we saw the best of both worlds this week, as RBs bounced back while QBs continued their improved play.

Unfortunately, as is the case in every week of NFL action, there were some injuries. Seeing which players are dealing with injuries and which ones aren't quite at 100% yet will go a long way if you're looking to win your fantasy leagues.

Without further ado, let's look at some injuries to watch and consider heading into Week 7. Don't forget to bookmark our fantasy football player news page, or download the free RotoBaller fantasy football mobile app with push notification alerts to stay notified.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Tua Tagovailoa, QB, Miami Dolphins

Many thought Tua Tagovailoa would retire after suffering yet another concussion in Week 2 of the 2024 season, but Tua never had retirement on his mind. The former Alabama quarterback met with neurologists shortly after the injury to discuss his NFL future.

What Tagovailoa heard from the neurologists was mostly positive, and according to Adam Schefter, he has been symptom-free and wasn't dissuaded from returning.

After weeks of refusing to answer questions regarding Tua's health, Dolphins HC Mike McDaniel finally said that he believes their talisman will play again this season. However, he won't return this week and McDaniel still doesn't have a clear timeline for his return.

Travis Etienne Jr., RB, Jacksonville Jaguars

This season has been a nightmare for the Jaguars. They looked like the NFL's next potential dynasty midway through the 2023 season, but have gone 2-10 in their last 12 games. Unfortunately, things got even worse in Week 6 as their star running back Travis Etienne got hurt.

After a slow start to the season which saw him lose some of his touches to Tank Bigsby, Etienne injured his hamstring on a deep passing route during the Jaguars' Week 6 loss to the Chicago Bears.

Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson told reporters that Etienne is considered week-to-week due to the injury. With Etienne set to miss some time, Bigsby can use this opportunity to steal the RB1 job for good.

Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed, WR, New Orleans Saints

After an incredible start to the 2024 NFL season, the Saints have come crashing back down to earth with four consecutive losses. Week 6 was particularly ugly, as they were without Derek Carr and Taysom Hill in a 51-27 shellacking by the hands of the Buccaneers.

They also lost their star wideout Chris Olave during the game, as he suffered a concussion in the first quarter. This is Olave's fourth concussion since 2020, which is extremely worrisome and he could miss more time than usual.

Players in concussion protocol usually miss a week of action, but Olave could miss two weeks given his concussion history. Rashid Shaheed has also suffered a "concerning" knee injury, and the Saints might have to use Bub Means, Mason Tipton, and Cedrick Wilson Jr. as their main weapons in Week 7.

Marvin Harrison Jr., WR, Arizona Cardinals

Chris Olave wasn't the only star wide receiver from Ohio State who got concussed in Week 6. Marvin Harrison Jr. got concussed after a big hit in the second quarter of the Cardinals' Week 6 matchup against the Packers.

The injury looked scary, and he must clear concussion protocol to get back on the field. The Cardinals won't play until Monday, but given how fellow rookie Malik Nabers still hasn't returned from his Week 4 concussion, we should temper our expectations.

Michael Wilson and Greg Dortch will look to have big games in MHJ's absence.

Tyjae Spears, RB, Tennessee Titans

Prior to the start of the season, the Titans made it seem like Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears would split touches evenly. However, Pollard has been the clear RB1 so far this season and will get even more touches now that Spears is hurt.

Spears suffered a hamstring injury in Week 6, and while he's listed as week-to-week, this could be catastrophic for him. Spears doesn't have an ACL in one of his knees, and according to an MDPI article, hamstring activity is crucial in an ACL-deficient knee not only to compensate for the absence of ACL but also to reduce the risk of MCL injury.

It's unclear which one of Spears' knees doesn't have an ACL, and whether his hamstring injury is on the same side. But if it is, it could derail Spears' 2024 season.

Dallas Goedert, TE, Philadelphia Eagles

Dallas Goedert had a slow start to the season, but he finally went off before the Eagles' bye week, putting up a combined 232 yards in Weeks 3 and 4. However, he got hurt as soon as the Eagles came back.

Goedert suffered a hamstring injury on the Eagles' first drive of the game against the Browns, and Eagles HC Nick Sirianni said they're still getting more information regarding Goedert's injury. Luckily for the Eagles, Grant Calcaterra had a good game once Goedert went down.

Nick Chubb and Jerome Ford, RB, Cleveland Browns

This week was filled with hamstring injuries, and Jerome Ford also suffered a hamstring injury during the aforementioned Eagles/Browns game. Ford is considered week-to-week, and this might have been the final week with Ford as the Browns' RB1.

Last week, we covered Nick Chubb's return to practice and now it seems like he's ready to play. Head coach Kevin Stefanski said Chubb is taking it "day to day" this week. The Browns are 1-5 and desperately need Chubb to produce some magic to save their season.
