Jalen Tolbert, Wan'Dale Robinson, Dontayvion Wicks: Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em Picks for Fantasy Football Week 6

Jalen Tolbert - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL Injury News

Should I start Jalen Tolbert, Wan'Dale Robinson, or Dontayvion Wicks for Week 6? Fantasy football start em, sit em picks and recommendations for the 2024 NFL season.

Week 6 is upon us and though a few games are already in the books, there are still plenty of decisions to make regarding your fantasy roster as we prepare for Sunday's main slate. Should you start that player you've had in your lineup all week, or make a last-minute pivot to that player on your bench with an enticing matchup?

Some hot names making fantasy managers scratch their heads are Jalen Tolbert, Wan'Dale Robinson, and Dontayvion Wicks. None of them are considered the top options on their respective teams but all three have made an impact for fantasy at some point this season.

Should Tolbert, Robinson, or Wicks crack your lineup this week? Let's dive in.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Should I Start Jalen Tolbert for Fantasy Football?

Cowboys third-year wideout Jalen Tolbert is in the midst of his best campaign yet. Through five weeks, Tolbert has 20 receptions for 247 yards and two touchdowns. Over the past two seasons combined, Tolbert totaled 22 catches for 280 yards and two scores.

We're seeing Tolbert emerge as the WR2 in Dallas, especially now with Brandin Cooks on injured reserve.

In Week 6, Tolbert will take on the Detroit Lions, who surrender the fourth-most fantasy points per contest to opposing receivers. The Lions boast one of the league's best run defenses and the Cowboys have the NFL's second-worst rushing attack. In other words, quarterback Dak Prescott should be expected to throw all over Detroit in what is projected to be the highest-scoring affair of the week.

Tolbert should continue to operate as one of Prescott's go-to guys alongside CeeDee Lamb and Jake Ferguson. In this potential shootout, all offensive weapons can be started in fantasy. Pass-catchers should be prioritized on the Cowboys' side of the ball given the challenge they face on the ground.

As the WR36, Tolbert is a solid WR3 or flex play in our half-PPR consensus staff rankings.

Should I Start Wan'Dale Robinson for Fantasy Football?

Although Wan'Dale Robinson disappointed in Week 5 relative to expectations, the 23-year-old still has the third-most targets in the NFL this season. He salvaged his fantasy performance with a touchdown last week and will look for further production in the Giants' second consecutive game without rookie superstar Malik Nabers.

New York's matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals is an attractive one. The Bengals are giving up 29 points per game, second-most in the league. Players at every position have found success against Cincinnati for fantasy football. It should be noted, however, that Robinson's value is much greater in half-and-full PPR formats.

Robinson simply has not been efficient. His role in the Giants' offense is to catch passes from Daniel Jones close to the line of scrimmage while the aforementioned Nabers and veteran Darius Slayton make plays downfield. This doesn't make him unplayable in standard leagues, though, as Robinson is capable of finding the end zone. His two touchdowns in 2024 match his career total before this season.

Because Robinson has been so involved this year, he's essentially a must-start with Nabers sidelined. He comes in as the WR21 in our half-PPR consensus staff rankings.

Should I Start Dontayvion Wicks for Fantasy Football?

In Week 4, Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love returned to action following a two-week absence. He had an inconsistent showing, but Love proved to be a massive upgrade over Malik Willis for all of the team's pass-catchers.

The biggest beneficiary was second-year pro Dontayvion Wicks. Wicks exploded for five receptions, 78 yards, and two touchdowns, scoring as the WR3 on the week. Last week, with Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs inactive, Wicks was a hot commodity in fantasy, but unfortunately couldn't get much of anything going. He managed just two receptions for 20 yards on seven targets.

He had a few drops in the contest, but there are still reasons to be encouraged by what Wicks has put on film this season.

Doubs will return to the lineup this week but it is unclear what his role will be. He was suspended last week for skipping practice because he is reportedly unhappy with his utilization. Watson, who is dealing with an ankle injury, is questionable to suit up on Sunday.

It remains to be seen just how much target competition Wicks will have, but he still offers plenty of upside against the Arizona Cardinals. Don't shy away from Wicks as a WR3 or flex option just because of one poor showing. We have him as the WR32 in this week's half-PPR consensus staff rankings.
