MLB DFS: DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (8/27/24) - Today's Top Lineups

Garrett Crochet - Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Pickups, Closers and Saves

Free daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for today's slate on DraftKings, FanDuel. Use Euan's MLB DFS expert picks to build winning DFS lineups on August 27, 2024.

Happy Tuesday, RotoBallers! It's wild to think that we are almost in September, and the postseason is on the horizon. However, with the season's final month about to begin, MLB teams can increase their rosters to 28 players. That could spring some surprise substitutions and pinch-hitters with DFS implications.

Today offers nine games for our DFS rosters. It all begins at 7:10 p.m. EDT, where the Blue Jays and Red Sox continue their AL East battle to avoid the bottom. Arizona, San Diego, and Boston are offenses to target on the hitting side, while pitchers can take advantage of matchups against the Rangers, White Sox, and Rays.

This article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 8/27/2024 and the slate locking at 7:10 p.m. EDT. The lineup picks will range from some elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. Monitoring injury news and today's MLB starting lineups is also essential.

DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Logan Webb - RHP, SF at Brewers ($8.7K DraftKings; $10.5K FanDuel)

On Tuesday, Logan Webb is the fifth-most expensive pitcher on DraftKings but the second-most expensive arm on FanDuel. The Giants' ace has settled into a classic Logan Webb season after an up-and-down start to the 2024 campaign.

In four of his previous five starts, Webb has fanned at least six batters, gone seven innings, or allowed one earned run or fewer. With a season-long 20.8% strikeout rate, Webb is on a K-racking heater by his standards. DFS managers can jump on that against the Brewer's 24.5% K-rate in the last month to RHP.

Garrett Crochet - LHP, CWS vs. Rangers ($8.0K DK; $8.2K FD)

After a sparkling opening three months to start the season, Garrett Crochet is finally wearing down. However, a matchup against the Texas Rangers is still too good to pass up for the man with a season-long 34.2% strikeout rate.

Since July 28, the Rangers sit inside the bottom-3 for OPS (.595), wOBA (.264), and wRC+ (69) against left-handed pitching. Combine that with a 25.3% strikeout rate, and you have the perfect bounce-back spot for Crochet and his DFS managers.

Also consider: Dylan Cease at STL, Logan Gilbert vs. TB, Jack Flaherty vs. BAL, Jeffrey Springs at SEA, Andrew Heaney at CWS

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Michael Toglia - 1B/OF, COL vs. Roddery Munoz ($5.2K DK; $3.3K FD)

This season has been Michael Toglia's biggest cup of coffee at the majors in his young career, and he's come through with a career-best season. The 26-year-old bats right in the middle of Colorado's lineup and is more than holding in his own.

The switch-hitting first baseman has reached base safely in 20 of 22 games in August and sports a season-best .891 OPS for the month. Miami is throwing Roddery Munoz (6.05 ERA, 1.49 WHIP) out at Coors Field tonight, so there will be some crooked numbers on the board in the Mile High City.

Connor Norby - 2B/3B, MIA at Cal Quantill ($3.9K DK; $3.1K FD)

*Insert Walter White "you got me" gif* Yes, I hear you. Starting with two players at Coors Field isn't the most ground-breaking idea in DFS history, but Connor Norby is leading off for Miami and comes in at $3.9K on DK. That's a terrific value, even if he wasn't at Coors Field.

The Marlins moved Norby to the top of the order three games ago, and he's come through by going 5-for-13 (.384) with five runs, two RBI, a double, and two home runs, averaging 19.67 FD PPG.

Geraldo Perdomo - SS, ARI vs. Sean Manaea, LHP ($3.2K DK; $2.8K FD)

With the Mets giving left-handed Sean Manaea the ball tonight, Geraldo Perdomo will go from ninth to first in Arizona's batting order. Usually, it would fall to Ketel Marte (ankle), but he's on the IL. Fortunately, Perdomo has been playing well and should take advantage of the opportunity.

The shortstop is rocking a .896 OPS over the last month and has been on fire this week. In his previous six games, Perdomo has a hit in five of them with three multi-hit efforts, five runs, five RBI, three doubles, two home runs, and two steals, averaging 13.8 DK PPG.

Also consider: Shohei Ohtani, Otto Lopez, Brice Turang, Jake Burger, Josh Jung

DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Mookie Betts - OF, LAD vs. Cole Irvin ($6.3K DK; $3.9K FD)

Everyone will be on Mookie Betts' teammate, Shohei Ohtani, tonight, so let's pivot to the two-time MVP for some lower roster percentage. It's weird to say a player with a season-long .299 average and .887 OPS is slumping, but that's where Betts finds himself with a .694 OPS over the last week.

Fortunately, all four of his hits in the last seven days have gone for extra bases (three doubles, one home run), so it's not a lack of power. The batting average will come around sooner rather than later. DFS managers can make that bet tonight and save some salary by choosing the Dodgers outfielder over the designated hitter.

Daulton Varsho - OF, TOR at Cooper Criswell ($4.2K DK; $3.0K FD)

Over the last 10 games, Dalton Varsho sits inside the top-17 outfielders with 11.83 FD PPG. However, the site has priced him outside the top 30 for Tuesday's nine-game slate. This is a fantastic opportunity for DFS managers to take advantage of slightly poor pricing.

The catcher-turned-outfielder has found himself on a nine-game hitting streak at the moment. During that stretch, the 28-year-old sports a .368 batting average and a .953 OPS with nine runs, five RBI, two doubles, a triple, and a home run.

Corey Julks - OF, CWS vs. Andrew Heaney ($2.5K DK; $2.4K FD)

There are a lot of solid batting options on Tuesday's slate, so you'll need to find some value plays to fill out the lineup. Fortunately, the White Sox deem it necessary to bat Corey Julks leadoff when a southpaw is on the mound. It'll be the cheapest zero points you ever roster.

Also consider: Trevor Larnach, Jarren Duran, Jackson Merrill, Luis Robert Jr., Heliot Ramos
