MLB Spring Training 2024: Reporting Dates For All MLB Teams

Mookie Betts - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, Waiver Wire Pickups

When are the reporting dates for MLB teams for full-squad workouts in 2024? Brenton breaks down the first full-squad workout date for all 30 MLB teams.

The weather is warmer, the sun is brighter, and baseball is returning. It's a glorious time of the year.

Indeed, pitchers and catchers are filing into their respective spring training facilities with the final reporting date for those two positions coming on Thursday, February 15. Of course, the Dodgers ensured they were ahead of the pack and had pitchers and catchers report on Friday, February 9 followed by the Padres on February 11. It's February 14 or 15 for the remaining 28 clubs.

That said, when do the remainder of the players show up? Of course, many position players are already in Florida or Arizona getting a head start on workouts. However, let's dive in and see exactly when each club's first full-squad workout will take place in 2024.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy baseball draft tools and resources:

Wednesday, February 14

As noted, the Dodgers were ahead of the pack in getting their pitchers and catchers to report and they are doing so with the remainder of the group as well.

In fact, the team's first full-squad workout taking place on February 14 means they work out as a team ahead of 10 teams' pitchers and catchers reporting dates. This, of course, means $700 million man Shohei Ohtani is already launching seeds into the Arizona air.

The Dodgers won the NL West by 16 games in 2023, but were swept by the second-place D-backs in the NLDS. They host the Padres on March 20 in South Korea, hence the early reporting dates for these two clubs.

Friday, February 16

The Padres were the second team to have their pitchers and catchers report and they will also be the second club to work out as a full squad on February 16.

After a third-place finish in the NL West in 2023, the club's outlook looks murky as they traded Juan Soto and Josh Hader this winter while 2023 NL Cy Young winner Blake Snell continues to linger on the open market.

Sunday, February 18

The lone club to open full-squad workouts on February 18 is the reigning AL Central champion Minnesota Twins.

They too ran away with their division as the Twins finished nine games up on the Detroit Tigers and were easily the only team in the weak AL Central to finish over .500 at 87-75. They are favored to win their second straight division title in 2024, but the Tigers and Guardians could keep their hands full.

Monday, February 19

The first two days of next week are when the vast majority of players show up to their respective camps.

Eight Cactus League clubs arrive on February 19 as the D-backs, Cubs, White Sox, Reds, Royals, Angels, A's, and Rangers all open their first full-squad workouts on Monday. Texas' quest to defend their first World Series championship in franchise history begins in earnest.

At the same time, seven Grapefruit League workouts begin in Florida. The Red Sox, Tigers, Mets, Phillies, Pirates, Cardinals, and Rays all begin on February 19. The rather shocking decline of the Cardinals in 2023 stands out most in this group, but a retooled pitching staff could put them back in the unpredictable NL Central mix in 2024.

Tuesday, February 20

The final day of spring training reporting comes on February 20 as five Cactus League clubs and seven Grapefruit League teams open up full-squad workouts on that day.

Representing the Cactus League side of things on this day are the Guardians, Rockies, Brewers, Giants, and Mariners. The Giants will look to get back into the NL West picture after falling to just 79-83 last season.

Finally, the Florida side of things includes the Braves, Orioles, Astros, Marlins, Yankees, Blue Jays, and Nationals. A quiet offseason (so far) for the Blue Jays remains rather suspicious given Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Bo Bichette are both scheduled to hit free agency after the 2025 season.
