Top 250 Dynasty Fantasy Baseball Prospects Rankings (February 2024 Update)

Ceddanne Rafaela - fantasy baseball draft sleepers DFS MLB injury news

Benjamin's updated top 250 fantasy baseball prospects rankings (dynasty) as of February 2024. His MLB prospect rankings for fantasy baseball dynasty leagues.

We're back, RotoBallers, for the February 2024 update of our MLB team's dynasty fantasy baseball prospects rankings for the 2024 season. We're now into 2024 with an eye on the upcoming year, and moves by MLB teams have begun to shape how we look at prospects.

This list adds a half-dozen 2024 international signees who inked their professional deal with an MLB club on January 15 to the overall list. Another handful of prospects are potentially going to figure in quickly this season as guys on this list graduate in the first half of 2024. Unfortunately, the main thing that will change positions between now and Opening Day is injury. We could begin hearing news on prospects who are tearing up spring training as well, but remember that often discourse is happening way more in the public eye than in team offices as they enter spring training with the roster nearly entirely set.

We will revisit this list monthly throughout the offseason with any updates due to offseason trades or player information gathered from fall and winter leagues, so keep checking in each month!

Be sure to check all of our fantasy baseball lineup tools and resources:

MLB Prospect Dynasty Rankings - February Update

These fantasy baseball prospect rankings are geared toward dynasty leagues, which are looking at longer-term impacts for fantasy baseball. Proximity is weighed into the rankings, so a player who has reached the major leagues already or should figure prominently into his team's 2024 plans will get a nod above a similarly-valued player who is multiple years away from the majors. Make sure to check out all of RotoBaller's fantasy baseball dynasty articles and fantasy baseball prospects coverage!

Who's Hot, Who's Not

Other than the addition of the January 15 prospects, some of the biggest movers on this list were Samuel Basallo (again). I continue to be incredibly impressed by the swing. I don't think it's necessarily that he will end up as an MLB catcher, but the bat should be valuable wherever he slots defensively.

One player jumped nearly 100 spots due to getting some really good video looks on him, and that's Mets starter Christian Scott. Scott has a very interesting profile as a college reliever that the Mets drafted in the fifth round in 2021 and has a strong array of pitches that should give him the chance to work as a mid-rotation starter in New York as soon as this year.

Unfortunately, the injury news was behind the biggest drop in this month's update. Nick Frasso has incredibly elite raw stuff, but he had to have surgery in November for a torn labrum in his throwing shoulder. While Frasso's stuff can certainly come back, he still needs some polish to work as a starter. He'll miss all of 2024 and will be 26 when he returns in 2025 with only 19 innings above Double-A in his career. At this point, he very well may be a reliever only. He's still at the bottom of the list, but players that push forward during the 2024 season could certainly push him off at some point.
