CBB DFS: DraftKings Daily Fantasy College Basketball Picks (Afternoon Slate) - Today's Top Lineups (1/6/24)

Mark Sears - CBB DFS Picks, NCAA Daily College Fantasy Basketball

Today's DraftKings CBB DFS lineup picks for 1/6/24 (afternoon slate). Mike's daily fantasy college basketball DraftKings sleepers to build NCAA DFS lineups.

This is the first Saturday that hoops is all by itself and they are taking full advantage of it. We have three monster slates on tap for today, with almost all of them exclusively Power Six matchups. College basketball will own the space until the end of March. It all starts here! We will focus on the dozen afternoon games in this one. We have a jam-packed afternoon of college basketball all before dinner!

The Big Ten only has one game, but it kicks us off right with Nebraska in Madison to take on the Badgers. The SEC games feature Alabama in Nashville to take on Vandy and Mississippi in Knoxville to take on the Vols. We have plenty of ACC flavor with Duke in South Bend, Miami at Wake, the Hokies in Tallahassee, and Boston College taking on the Bees in Atlanta. We have plenty of Big 12 action with Baylor in Stillwater, UCF at the Octagon of Doom, and Iowa State in Norman to take on the Sooners. We end this with Pac-12 tilts between Stanford and USC in L.A. and the Beavers in Seattle to take on Washington.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy college basketball lineup picks for DraftKings on 1/6/24, starting at 2:15 PM Eastern. I’ll provide multiple player suggestions at guard and forward, aiming to highlight one option at the high, middle, and lower end of the salary scale. Good luck, RotoBallers.

Today's DraftKings Guards - CBB DFS Lineup Picks

Tamin Lipsey, Iowa State ($9,600)

That Tweet tells you all that you need to know about why we play Lipsey. He's a good, efficient scorer and he leads the nation in steals with 3.6 per game. The teams he's pilfered in that streak? How about Iowa, Texas A&M, Virginia Tech, and Virginia Commonwealth. He has kept the streak going against some weaker opponents, but he has done the same with remarkable consistency against major opponents too. Lipsey is about as safe as you can get.

Mark Sears, Alabama ($7,900)

Don't read too much into Sears's stats being down the last couple of games. The Tide have rolled by a combined 89 points in the two games against Liberty and Eastern Kentucky. I can thank those games for the price relief on Sears. He put up 37 DraftKings points against Arizona and 45.5 against Purdue. Sears is still the driving force on this team on both ends of the court and we get him at a huge discount. Sears will be in every one of my lineups.

Zakai Zeigler, Tennessee ($6,400)

He's back! Zeigler tore his ACL on Senior Night last year and was forced to miss the rest of the season. The Vols brought Zeigler along slowly at the beginning of the season, but he played at least 27 minutes in every December game. Zeigler has four straight games of 25 or more DraftKings points and is scoring as he did before the injury while still displaying his skills running the offense. Zeigler feels cheap for the current output.

Bronny James, USC ($4,800)

James still hasn't played more than 20 minutes in a game, but he has scored in double figures in each of the last two games. Depending on who you talk to, he's a better shooter than his father and is more of a team player as a freshman on a star-studded team. USC isn't going to suddenly ramp up Bronny's minutes, but he can do a lot of damage in 20 minutes of court time thanks to his shooting skills.

Also consider:  Allen Flanigan, Mississippi ($8,700); RayJ Dennis, Baylor ($8,000); Matthew Cleveland, Miami (FL) ($7,600); Hunter Sallis, Wake Forest ($7,200); Jared McCain, Duke ($6,800); Kanaan Carlyle, Stanford ($6,300); Nijel Pack, Miami (FL) ($6,000); Curtis Jones, Iowa State ($5,500); Donald Hand Jr., Boston College ($4,600); Jamarques Lawrence, Nebraska ($4,500)

Today's DraftKings Forwards - CBB DFS Lineup Picks

Norchad Omier, Miami (FL) ($9,000)

Omier has scored at least 20 points in four straight games. If Wooga Poplar can return today, Omier's scoring may take a bit of a hit. That said, his rebounding has been outstanding (41 in those four games), giving Omier double-double potential. Miami is often a guard-dominated team, but Omier gets the most of his shot attempts. He has only missed 14 of 40 shots over the last four games. Hooray, efficiency!

Baye Ndongo, Georgia Tech ($7,800)

Ndongo missed a double-double by just one rebound against Florida State last week and by two rebounds against Nevada out in Hawaii. Ndongo only missed three shots in three games in the Diamond Head Classic and only missed two against the Seminoles. We would like to see him get more shots, but Ndongo's efficiency makes him a daily double-double threat. The ceiling is enormous and his floor has been much more stable over the last three weeks or so. The freshman is starting to figure this out.

Milan Momcilovic, Iowa State ($5,900)

Momcilovic has had ups and downs in his freshman season, but he is starting to find some consistency. He has scored at least 14 points in four straight games while posting solid rebound and assist totals. Milan is one of the best spot-up shooters the Cyclones have. If he's going to keep scoring at this level, he deserves consideration in most Big 12 games.

Wilhelm Breidenbach, Washington ($4,900)

Franck Kepnang has been out since the Seattle game on December 17 with no update on his injury. Braxton Meah has started in his stead, but the Nebraska transfer has been much more effective than Meah. Breidenbach has 51.25 DraftKings points in 50 minutes against Oregon and Utah. If Kepnang is out again, Breidenbach is the guy you want, even if he doesn't start. He plays more minutes than the foul-prone Meah.

Also consider:  Kyle Filipowski, Duke ($9,800); Keion Brooks Jr., Washington ($8,100); Efton Reid III, Wake Forest ($7,000); Jaemyn Brakefield, Mississippi ($6,900); David N'Guessan, Kansas State ($6,200); Marchelus Avery, Central Florida ($5,900); Tobe Awaka, Tennessee ($5,500); Moussa Cisse, Mississippi ($5,000); Robbie Beran, Virginia Tech ($4,500)
