Mike Marteny takes a look at 2023 breakout collegiate stars that will be available in your fantasy football dynasty drafts within the next year or two. Who shined in Week 9 of the 2023 season?
We had another fun weekend of college football. We had some performances that you had to see to believe. USC struggled with Cal. Oregon established their dominance by mowing down Utah on their home field. Were any of those guys top performers? We'll have to find out.
We will help you get acclimated with these college players earlier than many of your fantasy football league mates. We here at RotoBaller are all about giving you an advantage.
I will highlight one quarterback, one running back, one wide receiver, and one tight end every week of the college season who put up some really big numbers. I'll let you know what it means for your dynasty leagues. Do these guys have NFL futures? You'll find out!

Fantasy Football Dynasty Watch: Quarterbacks
Chandler Rogers, North Texas (32-49, 411 yards, 5 TD) vs. Memphis
Rogers has been able to get the most out of this North Texas offense so far this year. A big part of that is not turning the ball over. Rogers has only thrown one interception in eight games! He was solid for Louisiana-Monroe last year in his first year as a starter. He transferred to North Texas so he could throw the ball around more.
Roger is a bit undersized at 6' and 190 pounds. He's not much of a runner, which further limits his upside at the next level. If you're not Peyton Manning or Tom Brady, you had better be fleet of foot to succeed in the NFL.

Fantasy Football Dynasty Watch: Running Backs
Ollie Gordon, Oklahoma State (25 carries, 271 yards, 2 TD; 4 receptions, 21 yards) vs. Cincinnati
It looks like Mike Gundy has been holding out on us. Gordon split carries with Elijah Collins and Jaden Nixon in the first three games. Gordon's last three games have been the stuff of Oklahoma State legend.
At 6'1" and 211 pounds, Gordon has the size that NFL teams love. He is also a good receiver out of the backfield and has shown good elusiveness so far. Pass protection is his weakest skill, and it's still not a negative. The NFL doesn't use workhorse backs anymore, but if they make a comeback, Gordon could help usher it in. He's a beast!

Fantasy Football Dynasty Watch: Wide Receivers
Jamaal Pritchett, South Alabama (11 receptions, 168 yards, 2 TD) vs. Louisiana
Pritchett is a first-year starter for the Jaguars this year. After a bit of a slow start, Pritchett has racked up back-to-back 100-yard games. There is a chance for good volume in this South Alabama scheme with Carter Bradley as the quarterback.
Pritchett is small (5' 8", 164 pounds) even by Group of Five standards. He is fast with good hands. There is room for guys like Pritchett in the NFL, but he will have to show off those good hands and prove he can take a hit from big linebackers. He hasn't done so yet.

Fantasy Football Dynasty Watch: Tight Ends
RJ Maryland, SMU (2 receptions, 95 yards, TD) vs. Tulsa
The Ponies scored 69 points, so just about everyone got involved in the offense. No one player had huge stat lines, but several players were more involved in the offense than usual.
Maryland has an NFL pedigree. His father played 10 seasons for the Cowboys, Packers, and Raiders. RJ isn't your typical tight end at 6'4" and 233 pounds. He's kind of a tweener. Too big for WR, too small for TE. Maryland's future at the next level could be tight end if he can gain mass without losing hands or elusiveness.
Honorable mention: Jake Briningstool, Clemson
