Graham Ashcraft Takes The Loss On Tuesday
Graham Ashcraft took the loss on Tuesday when he allowed three runs on seven hits with two walks and two strikeouts over seven innings in a 3-0 shutout defeat at the hands of the Cleveland Guardians. Ashcraft wasn't at his best in this one as he dealt with a lot of traffic on the base pads. He allowed a single to Steven Kwan and a double to Jose Ramirez in the first inning before Kole Calhoun drove in both with a single. He settled in after that and still pitched well enough to give the Reds a chance to win but they couldn't muster any runs. After a horrible start to the season, Ashcraft has really picked things up over this second half. He's notched a quality start in 8-of-9 turns since June 30 and will look to keep it going against the Blue Jays in his next start. For the season, Ashcraft owns a 6-8 record, 4.89 ERA, 1.40 WHIP, and 90:48 K/BB ratio over 127 innings (23 starts).
