WNBA Daily Fantasy Lineup Picks (5/19/21): WNBA DFS Advice for DraftKings and FanDuel

Justin Carter's top daily fantasy WNBA lineup picks for 5/19/21. Expert WNBA DFS advice, sleepers & player recommendations for DraftKings and FanDuel.

More WNBA action on Wednesday as we have two games on the docket.

From a viewership perspective, this is probably the first disappointing night of the year. The Sky play the Dream in what should be a mismatch, while the Sun get arguably an even better matchup against the Fever. But hey, it's still WNBA basketball and you can still build some DFS lineups for the night!

In this article, I'll be providing you with some daily fantasy WNBA lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 5/19/21. These lineups picks will range from elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. Want to talk more about the WNBA? I'm always available on Twitter and always down to discuss women's basketball: @juscarts.

WNBA - DFS Guards

Chennedy Carter (G, Atlanta Dream) – vs Chicago Sky (DK: $8,800, FD: $6,700)

This should be a game that trends towards offense, as neither team is really built to do a lot defensively. For Atlanta, I'd expect to see Carter spearhead that. She shot just 33 percent in the opener and was 0-for-2 from deep, so her numbers on the season don't look ideal. But Carter should be the highest-usage player on this Atlanta team this season, especially while Tiffany Hayes is still out. She's not afraid of The Moment either, and a game against this much-hyped Sky team just has the makings of one of those games where Carter goes off. Plus, I like the top-priced forwards more than the guards on this slate, so I like the idea of saving a little salary space by taking Carter.

Kahleah Copper (G, Chicago Sky) – @ Atlanta Dream (DK: $7,600, FD: $6,700)

Sadly, FanDuel has already caught onto how good Copper is going to be this year and priced her up, but DraftKings hasn't! (By the way on FanDuel, Courtney Vandersloot is $5,800, if you're looking for a cheaper Sky guard.)

Allie Quigley is out Wednesday with a hamstring injury. Copper's 19 points in the opener led the team, plus she had eight rebounds in 27 minutes. With no Quigley, that likely ticks up into the low 30s, offering more chances for Copper to find the back of the net. On a star-studded team like this, you might not expect Copper to wind up as the top-scoring threat, but on a team that features a lot of elite passing, Copper is going to benefit greatly. Especially when she's a good shooter but also brings with her a strong ability to get inside.

Danielle Robinson (G, Indiana Fever) – @ Connecticut Sun (DK: $6,700, FD: $5,400)

The veteran point guard has played 30 minutes in each of Indiana's first two games. She already has eight steals and nine assists on the season, plus has taken double-digit shot attempts in each game. Robinson isn't a threat from deep, but she is someone who this coaching staff appears to already trust and who'll see the floor a lot on Wednesday. She's produced solid fantasy lines in both games this year and remains a nice value.

WNBA - DFS Forwards

Candace Parker (F, Chicago Sky) – @ Atlanta Dream (DK: $10,900, FD: $7,800)

Candace Parker's Sky debut saw her play just 25 minutes, but she made the most of those minutes. 16 points on 5-for-10 shooting, plus eight rebounds, four assists, and three blocks.

Atlanta doesn't have the quickness upfront to really deal effectively with Parker, which sets her up for a big game. Obviously a different situation, but she did post 17 points, nine rebounds, and five assists against this team in one of the meetings last year when she was with the Sparks. And with this Chicago team pushing the pace more, there will be more chances for Parker to get on the scoreboard, as well as plenty of opportunities for her to make some impressive outlet passes that lead to assists.

Jonquel Jones (F, Connecticut Sun) – vs Indiana Fever (DK: $10,200, FD: $7,700)

Speaking of teams who don't have the personnel to chase a big around the floor, the Fever are just totally ill-equipped to deal with Jonquel Jones.

Jones is averaging 20 points and 10.5 rebounds per game while shooting 42.9 percent from three. She's only blocked two shots so far, but we know that Jones is a great shot blocker, and she also should be able to take advantage of the inexperience and sloppiness of this Fever team and come away with a couple of steals. Jones is the player I'm most confident in on Wednesday, even more than Candace Parker. She's an elite player who the Fever won't be able to stop in the halfcourt, and she's looked improved in transition this season as well. I'm all in on playing Jones any chance I have.

Astou Ndour (F, Chicago Sky) – @ Atlanta Dream (DK: $5,700, FD: $3,200)

A nice value on both platforms, the Sky will be without two key frontcourt pieces in this game, as Azura Stevens deals with an ankle injury and Stefanie Dolson misses time in preparation for the 3-on-3 Olympic qualifiers.

That leaves a bit of a hole up front beyond Candace Parker. Ndour, Ruthy Hebard, and the newly signed Natasha Mack (who isn't on either site yet) will vie for those minutes, but Ndour's experience in this system and the way she fits the spaced-out approach they like make her the ideal candidate to see a major uptick in usage until Stevens is back.
