Fantasy Football Trade Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider trading for or trading away heading into Week 9:
Jaxon Smith-Njigba, WR, Seahawks
Trade Value: 91.1
ROS Rank: 3
He is also scoring touchdowns like a fiend, which escaped him during his first two seasons in the league. Washington is No. 23 against opposing wide receivers in fantasy. With quarterback Jayden Daniels back in the lineup this week, the Commanders may put continued pressure on the Seahawks to throw the ball.
Smith-Njigba's volume was never in jeopardy, but the chance for even more volume could make this an even better fantasy outing. Smith-Njigba has No. 1 overall wide receiver upside in Week 9. Set him in your lineup and do not worry.
Verdict: You'll have to break the bank to acquire the PPR WR2 heading into Week 9
Jonathan Taylor, RB, Colts
Trade Value: 95.9
ROS Rank: 2
The best player in fantasy over the first half of the season, Taylor has scored exactly three touchdowns in a game four times so far this season, with the most recent instance coming in a Week 8 win over the Tennessee Titans. He will look to keep it going in a road matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 9.
The Steelers have been solid against the run this season, allowing just the 22nd-most fantasy points per game to the running-back position through seven games. Despite the tougher matchup, Taylor remains a top-three fantasy running back in Week 9.
Verdict: Buy from a desperate team that may be riddled with injuries, but be prepared to pay up
Ja'Marr Chase, WR, Bengals
Trade Value: 88.3
ROS Rank: 6
Quarterback Joe Flacco (shoulder) didn't practice on Wednesday, which is not uncommon for older players, before being limited in Thursday's session. However, panic set in for fantasy managers when he didn't practice on Friday and was slapped with a questionable designation for Week 9. Fortunately, there's reason to believe the signal-caller will be out there on Sunday.
It appears Flacco and Chase have quickly developed strong on-field chemistry in a short span, so the duo should continue to connect in the meeting with the Bears. If Flacco can't suit up, Jake Browning would be back under center. Although Browning's presence would presumably lower Chase's ceiling, the wideout remains a must-start for obvious reasons.
Verdict: Sell super high if possible, for multiple studs, before the Bengals are forced to play Jake Browning again
A.J. Brown, WR, Eagles
Trade Value: 62.6
ROS Rank: 26
After missing last week's game with a hamstring injury, Brown broke out in Week 7 with 121 yards and two touchdowns.
The Eagles are on their bye this week, and it will be worth monitoring how the situation develops. Still, it seems unlikely that a team in the Eagles' position would move one of its top offensive weapons.
Verdict: Buy low on the WR33 in PPR leagues if you still can; the Eagles have recommitted to their passing attack
Fantasy Football Trade Rankings Values
The higher the Trade Value number, the higher the priority for targeting in trades. Find your players, add up the trade values of each side of the offer, and see which side of the trade wins.
Who Should I Trade For?
Week 9 Trade Decisions. Today's focus is on specific players - Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Jonathan Taylor, Ja'Marr Chase, Amon-Ra St. Brown, CeeDee Lamb, Emeka Egbuka, A.J. Brown. These are some key fantasy football names heading into this week's matchups.
Using The Trade Values. This is a simple trade value tool, but very powerful. In our fantasy football trade value rankings above, you will see the Trade Value for each player. The higher the number, the higher the priority for targeting in trades. Players with a high trade value number are players that you should be targeting more in trades.
How It Works. Each week, our RotoBaller staff puts together their weekly fantasy football rankings, projections, and trade values based on their research. That information is the core data that is powering the decision-making in this trade value rankings.
How To Calculate Trades. Fantasy football managers will make 1-for-1 trades, or 2-for-3 trades, or 3-for-2 trades, or many other combinations. For each side of the deal, add the trade values together. Whichever side has a higher total number wins the trade. For example, if someone is offering you three players, add the trade values of those three players together. Does the value of those three players exceed the values of the player(s) you are trading away? If so then it's a good deal for you.
