Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 7:
Jordan Love, Green Bay Packers
Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love faces a favorable Week 7 matchup against Detroit after throwing two touchdown passes in each of his first five games. He recorded one passing touchdown and his first rushing score of the season in last week's 23-13 win over Dallas. Detroit ranks last in the NFL in pass defense, allowing 297.4 yards per game and 14 passing touchdowns through five contests.
However, Detroit leads the league with 20 sacks, making Green Bay's pass protection the primary concern. Love (back) was limited Wednesday after absorbing several hits against Dallas but returned to full practice Thursday. Guard Aaron Banks (knee/toe) is questionable for Sunday, while receivers Christian Watson (ankle) and Matthew Golden (shoulder) are expected to play despite being limited in practice.
Love has thrown eight touchdowns without an interception in three career starts at Ford Field. RotoBaller ranks him QB3 in Tier 1 for Week 7. With Watson and Golden threatening downfield, Love is a must-start quarterback with the potential for one of the week's highest fantasy scores.
Tanner McKee, Philadelphia Eagles
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Tanner McKee is worth considering on the waiver wire, with Jalen Hurts expected to miss the remainder of the season due to blood clots. McKee completed 26 of 45 passes for 215 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's loss to Carolina, although Philadelphia struggled offensively.
The Eagles host Dallas in Week 7, presenting a favorable matchup against a Cowboys defense that ranks 30th in total defense and allows 26.5 points per game. McKee offers potential streaming value and longer-term quarterback depth, although Philadelphia's offensive struggles and his limited rushing upside temper expectations.
Sam Darnold, Seattle Seahawks
Seattle Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold is best viewed as a QB2 in Week 7 against the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs are No. 4 against opposing quarterbacks in fantasy, and Darnold has not exactly been a fantasy stalwart this season. Darnold has thrown seven interceptions in his last four games. He has tossed as many picks as touchdowns during this rough patch.
The Chiefs are allowing just 224 passing yards and 0.8 touchdowns to opposing quarterbacks this season. They are also almost a shoo-in for recording an interception. If Seattle expects to win on Sunday night, it will have to come by riding Emanuel Wilson and the running game to victory. Additionally, this team will try to play good defense and control the game. Do not expect fireworks from Darnold this week as a result.
Joe Burrow, Cincinnati Bengals
Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow will lead the team against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 7. Burrow is fresh off the team's bye week and ready to face off against a division rival.
When the Bengals were last active, Burrow tossed four passing touchdowns in a 31-24 win over the Miami Dolphins. The veteran QB will look to pick up where he left off on the road in Baltimore. The Ravens defense has been one of the easier matchups for opposing quarterbacks this season, putting Burrow in a very advantageous position this Sunday.
Burrow should be able to connect with his top receivers Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins often throughout what could be a high-scoring affair. Burrow is ranked QB6 in our RotoBaller Week 7 rankings, making him a strong QB1 option this Sunday. Fantasy managers should be excited to plug Burrow back into lineups this week.
Deshaun Watson, Cleveland Browns
Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson is a decent starting option in Week 7's game against the Tennessee Titans. Watson was 16-for-26 passing for 164 yards and no touchdowns and no interceptions in last week's 13-10 win over the Baltimore Ravens.
This week he gets a little bit better of a matchup against the Titans, even if it is on the road. The Titans rank in the middle of the pack at 16th in the NFL in pass defense, allowing 220.5 passing yards per game with six passing touchdowns allowed. Watson has 1,174 passing yards this season with seven passing touchdowns compared to just two interceptions. The veteran quarterback needs to show more touchdown ability to be considered a safe option.
The good news is his top two wide receiver options, Denzel Boston and KC Concepcion Jr., have been cleared to play after missing some practice time this week. Despite his good touchdown-to-interception ratio, he carries a bit of risk in playing him as a QB1. Nevertheless, this might be a game to look Watson's way should you need a bye-week replacement at the quarterback position.
