Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 2:
Breece Hall, New York Jets
New York Jets running back Breece Hall tallied 22 carries, 102 rushing yards, and one rushing touchdown during Sunday's Week 1 win over the Tennessee Titans. He also caught two passes for an additional 16 receiving yards. Fantasy managers have to be quite pleased with this season-opening performance from Hall.
After finishing with modest numbers as the RB19 last year, the Jets' lead back kicked off the 2026 season by showing that he's capable of logging 20+ touches per game with great efficiency numbers. He also found the end zone, which is something he only accomplished five times in 16 games last year. The Titans were admittedly a softer matchup for Hall, and he'll get a tougher test in the form of the Green Bay Packers next week. Nevertheless, Hall is trending up as the Jets' clear workhorse back. He will climb to the low-end RB1 or high-end RB2 tier in fantasy football rankings next week.
Kyren Williams, Los Angeles Rams
Los Angeles Rams running back Kyren Williams tallied 11 carries, 41 rushing yards, and one rushing touchdown during Thursday's Week 1 loss against the San Francisco 49ers. He also caught all three of his targets for an additional 24 receiving yards. Williams was inefficient on the ground, and he was out-rushed by Blake Corum despite having one more rushing attempt than his backfield-mate.
Fortunately for Williams' fantasy managers, the 26-year-old salvaged his performance by catching some passes and breaking into the end zone. He won't bail out his fantasy managers with a touchdown every week, and he's unlikely to handle a noticeable increase in volume since Blake Corum will continue to have a big role.
Therefore, we'd like to see him bounce back in terms of efficiency. Improving upon Thursday's 3.7 yards per carry will help Williams get back into the RB1 tier this season. For now, he's more of a high-end RB1 for the Rams' Week 2 matchup against the New York Giants.
Javonte Williams, Dallas Cowboys
Dallas Cowboys running back Javonte Williams handled 12 of the 15 carries the Cowboys called for running backs in his team's Week 1 loss. He averaged a lowly 3.4 yards per carry, though he did find the end zone once on the ground. He added five catches on five targets for 31 yards and another touchdown, leading to a very productive day in fantasy football.
It wasn't enough to lift the Cowboys over their opponent, bitter divisional rival New York Giants, though. Williams remains the workhorse back for his team and got more receiving work than usual, but didn't find much room to run against what was a poor Giants run defense last season. Another easy defensive matchup on paper is coming in Week 2, when Dallas returns home to play another divisional rival, the Washington Commanders. Look for Williams to be more efficient and log more carries in that game.
Mack Hollins, New England Patriots
New England Patriots wide receiver Mack Hollins stepped up in a big way during the season opener. Hollins was not expected to be a significant part of the offense, but he ended up being one of the lone bright spots. The 33-year-old hauled in four of his five targets for 51 yards in the loss to the Seattle Seahawks.
He saw an expanded role in the offense once top wideout A.J. Brown (ankle) exited the contest. It sounds like Brown is going to miss over a month of action, which could lead to a bigger role for Hollins in this offense. Hollins will probably move into a starting role for the Week 2 matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers. He could be worth stashing in deep leagues while Brown is out.
Tyjae Spears, Tennessee Titans
Tennessee Titans running back Tyjae Spears had three carries for 12 yards and two receptions on four targets for 12 yards in the 23-10 loss to the New York Jets. The Titans' offense was unproductive in Week 1, totaling 208 yards and ranking last in the NFL through Week 1.
The good news for Spears was that the split was nearly 50/50 with Tony Pollard. Spears cut into Pollard's early-down work while keeping his pass-down role, but with this offense not clicking against the Jets, it's difficult to envision both backs consistently producing. They face the Philadelphia Eagles next week, but with their current committee, Spears only has value as a handcuff or PPR option in deep leagues.
