Fantasy Football Matchup Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 14:
Lamar Jackson, QB, Ravens
Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson (ankle) is set to play on Sunday in a divisional clash with the Steelers. Jackson did not participate in Thursday's practice, but according to head coach John Harbaugh, he will be under center in a game for the top spot in the AFC North. Jackson missed time earlier this season with a hamstring issue, and since returning, he has been hampered by an ankle injury that has left him looking out of sorts.
His QB8 finish in Week 9 marked the last time he's landed inside the top 12 at the position, while he's finished as QB24 or lower for three straight weeks. He was close to completing multiple big plays in a Thanksgiving loss to the Bengals, and had any of them stood, fantasy managers might feel better about his prospects moving forward. As it stands, Jackson projects as RotoBaller's QB11 against a Steelers defense that has been one of the most generous to opposing quarterbacks all season long.
Sam Darnold, QB, Seahawks
Seattle Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold is a riskier option in Week 14 against the Atlanta Falcons. Despite the Falcons' terrible record, they have been solid against the pass this season. Darnold himself has hit a serious skid over the last several weeks. He has only cracked double-digit fantasy points once in the last four weeks. The recent run of bad games has been primarily caused by a plethora of turnovers and a lack of touchdown passes to make up for them. Darnold's 10 interceptions and five fumbles lost are already one turnover shy of his total from 2024.
The Seahawks should have plenty of success running against the Falcons, which may be a better game plan for the team while Darnold works through his struggles. Of course, the Seahawks have great offensive potential, and Darnold could get back on track in any given week. There are some desperate fantasy managers out there with the Patriots and Giants on bye this week. Darnold is a risky play with an extremely low floor, but with a solid ceiling as well.
C.J. Stroud, QB, Texans
Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud returned from his concussion last week against the Colts and led his team to a fourth straight win. After starting 0-3, Stroud's Texans are 7-5 and pushing for a playoff spot. In his return, he completed 22 of 35 passes for 276 yards, no touchdowns, and one interception. In his nine games, he has racked up 1,978 yards, 11 touchdowns, and six interceptions. In their recent charge, though, the team has relied more heavily on the passing game, and Stroud has aired it out with 35+ pass attempts in each of his last three full games.
He and the Texans face another critical matchup this week on Sunday Night Football against the Chiefs. It should be a great game, and Stroud and the Texans have favorable home matchups against the Cardinals and Raiders after Sunday night's road showdown. Stroud is a fringe option in single-QB leagues and a strong second QB in dual-QB leagues, as he tries to guide his team back to the postseason again this season
Aaron Rodgers, QB, Steelers
As expected, Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers (wrist) returned to practice on Thursday, according to Brooke Pryor of ESPN. Rodgers suffered three fractures in his left (non-throwing) wrist in Week 11 and sat out of Week 12. The 42-year-old future Hall of Famer returned in last week's loss to the Buffalo Bills, going 10-for-21 for 117 yards, no touchdowns, and no interceptions.
Although Rodgers was beaten up in the Week 13 loss, he's fully expected to take the field this Sunday for a big divisional clash against the Baltimore Ravens. With limited options at his disposal in the passing game beyond receiver DK Metcalf, Rodgers has been the QB22 in overall fantasy points in 2025 through 13 weeks, with 2,086 passing yards, 19 touchdowns, and seven interceptions. Against a Ravens defense that has stiffened in the second half of the season, Rodgers will be a QB2/3 in fantasy while playing through a broken left hand.
Tyrod Taylor, QB, Jets
New York Jets quarterback Tyrod Taylor completed 19 of 33 passes for 172 yards and a touchdown while adding eight carries for 44 yards and a rushing score in Sunday's 27-24 win over the Atlanta Falcons. Taylor led the Jets to their third win of the season in his second straight start in place of Justin Fields. He found receiver Adonai Mitchell for a 52-yard touchdown en route to a career day for the second-year wideout. The 36-year-old Taylor has performed well and figures to remain the team's starter going forward.
His rushing ability gives him a decent floor for fantasy production, and he's produced the ninth-most fantasy points among quarterbacks in the past two games. Taylor could be worth adding and plugging in as a streamer for Week 14 against the Miami Dolphins in two-QB fantasy leagues.
