Fantasy Football Matchup Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 13 SNF:
Marcus Mariota, QB, Commanders
Washington Commanders quarterback Marcus Mariota will make his third consecutive start in Week 13 against the Denver Broncos with Jayden Daniels (elbow) ruled out. Daniels returned as a limited participant in practice this week, but hasn't been cleared for contact yet and will need at least another week. Mariota has performed well this season with Daniels sidelined, completing 65.7% of his passes for 1,065 yards, seven touchdowns, and five interceptions while adding 27 carries for 193 yards and another score as a runner in seven games (five starts).
The 32-year-old veteran will have No. 1 wide receiver Terry McLaurin (quadriceps) back from his second multi-game absence on Sunday Night Football against an elite Denver Broncos defense that has allowed the second fewest fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks. Mariota profiles as a mid-range QB2 option for Week 13.
Terry McLaurin, WR, Commanders
Washington Commanders wide receiver Terry McLaurin (quadriceps) has been cleared from the injury report and will play in Week 13 against the Denver Broncos on Sunday Night Football. McLaurin missed four games after initially injuring his quad in Week 3 against the Las Vegas Raiders, then reaggravated the injury in Week 8 versus the Kansas City Chiefs and hasn't played since. The Ohio State product was a full participant in Thursday's practice before getting a rest day on Friday.
McLaurin looked great in the limited number of snaps he played against the Chiefs, catching three of his four targets for 54 yards and a touchdown. He'll provide a major lift to a Washington offense that has been decimated by injuries and will be without second-year quarterback Jayden Daniels (elbow) for the third straight game. It's a tough matchup for McLaurin to return for, as the Broncos will be getting star cornerback Patrick Surtain II (pectoral) back on Sunday night. He ranks as RotoBaller's WR39 in PPR leagues for Week 13.
Troy Franklin, WR, Broncos
Denver Broncos wide receiver Troy Franklin will have a golden opportunity in Week 13 against an easier matchup in the Washington Commanders, who are near the bottom of the league in defensive rankings. Franklin is having a breakout season, leading the team in targets this season with 81, and should be leaned on more as they come off the bye week. The Commanders' defense enters Week 13 allowing 249.5 passing yards per game, ranked 28th in the league.
Franklin should be able to use this to his advantage as he averages around four catches on nine targets per game over the past five contests. Fire up Franklin as a high-end WR3 with upside as RotoBaller's WR26 overall for Week 13.
RJ Harvey, RB, Broncos
Denver Broncos running back RJ Harvey looks to dominate the backfield snaps as they approach the Washington Commanders, coming off a bye week. In Week 11, Harvey was on the field for 60% of the snaps in what was a tough defensive game against the Kansas City Chiefs. After having a full bye week to rediscover the offensive strengths after J.K. Dobbins' injury (foot), Harvey should have a true opportunity to shine as their primary ball carrier against the Commanders' 27th-ranked rushing defense, allowing 137.5 rushing yards per game.
RotoBaller has Harvey ranked as the RB14 overall for Week 13, marking him as a high-end RB2 coming off the bye.
Courtland Sutton, WR, Broncos
Denver Broncos wide receiver Courtland Sutton can make a statement in Week 13 against the Washington Commanders as he comes off the bye week to face their weak pass defense. Despite being less of a target hog this season due to the emergence of wide receiver Troy Franklin, Sutton is still showing healthy target volume, averaging 6.7 per game, and remains the clear WR1 on paper due to his high snap shares.
With the Commanders' defense allowing an average of 249.5 passing yards per game, Sutton should find opportunities for chunk plays. Ranked as RotoBaller's WR18 overall for Week 13, Sutton should be perceived as a WR2 with upside in a plus matchup.
