Week 1 Outlooks For Fantasy Football

Raheem Mostert, Miami Dolphins - Fantasy Football Outlook

Miami Dolphins running back Raheem Mostert will take on the Jacksonville Jaguars this Sunday in the team's first home game of the season. He is coming off a career year in which he scored 21 total touchdowns and produced 1,187 scrimmage yards on a Dolphins squad that scored the second-most points in the NFL (496). Mostert is again set to lead a committee in the Dolphins' backfield, splitting time with De'Von Achane and perhaps Jaylen Wright and even Jeff Wilson sprinkling in for touches.

The 32-year-old back does not have the same kind of miles as other NFL veterans his age, as he has yet to eclipse 700 career carries (674). Additionally, he is still one of the fastest players in the league -- clocking in as the tenth-fastest ball carrier in any game last season at a scorching 21.62 MPH.

Jacksonville was tough against the run last year -- allowing the ninth-fewest yards in the NFL -- though they did let up 15 rushing touchdowns -- tied for ninth-most. Expect a good amount of scoring opportunities for the tenth-year back, as the Dolphins have an implied point total of 26 in their first tilt.

- Alex Ciualla, RotoBaller

D'Andre Swift, Chicago Bears - Fantasy Football Outlook

Chicago Bears running back D'Andre Swift is a borderline RB2/RB3 for Sunday's game against the Tennessee Titans, who present a challenging matchup. In their final three games of last season, the Titans allowed only 83.7 rushing yards per game, the best in the league during that period. Their defensive line, now bolstered by the addition of T'Vondre Sweat—who stands 6'4″ and weighs 366 pounds—poses a significant challenge.

Sweat's presence is likely to draw double-teams, which could complicate inside runs for Swift. However, Swift might find success running to the edges. In this area, he performed well last year in Philadelphia, averaging 4.4 yards per carry and showing better efficiency and yardage after contact compared to his inside runs. Swift also has the potential to contribute in the passing game. However, the Titans were effective against receiving backs last season, allowing the fourth-fewest receptions and ranking 16th in yards per reception.

This game will also be notable for the distribution of snaps, as Swift will share the backfield with Khalil Herbert and Roschon Johnson. While Swift will get plenty of work in Week 1, tempering expectations against a formidable run defense is wise.

- Martin Grisko, RotoBaller

Terry McLaurin, Washington Commanders - Fantasy Football Outlook

Washington Commanders wide receiver Terry McLaurin should be expected to see the vast majority of targets on Sunday afternoon and should be treated as a high-end WR2 in Week 1. Currently, the Commanders' depth chart outside of the Ohio State product is looking quite bleak, with several unproven wideouts.

Even after catching passes from multiple QBs every season of his career, the former third-round pick has posted a 1,000-yard campaign in all but one of his five professional campaigns. He now hopes to continue that same success with the new franchise QB in the nation's capital.

In a matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who surrendered the fifth-most 248.9 passing yards per game last year, McLaurin could be in store for a big game and get off to an excellent start as he looks to be the focal point of the Washington offense yet again.

- Andy Smith, RotoBaller
