Tank Dell fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks for Week 1 (2024). Should you start or sit Tank Dell for fantasy football lineups?
BALLER MOVE: Start in 12+ Team Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: WR3
ANALYSIS: Tank Dell's rookie season in 2023 was a pleasant surprise as he finished with 709 receiving yards and seven touchdowns despite missing six games and leaving early in two other contests.
The main concern with Dell for the upcoming season is the offseason trade for Stefon Diggs, which creates a crowded receiver room in Houston.
Dell proved to be an explosive playmaker for the Texans in his rookie season and showed instant chemistry with C.J. Stroud, who reportedly pushed for Houston to select Dell in the third round of the 2023 draft.

The target competition in Houston will be stiff with Nico Collins establishing himself as an alpha X receiver and Diggs added to the mix, so each of these three receivers is going to have weeks where he's the odd man out. That being said, Diggs showed signs of slowing down with the Bills last season and he could settle in as the No. 3 option for the Texans if his decline continues.
A Week 1 matchup against the Indianapolis Colts isn't one to be overly concerned about. The Colts were average at best against the pass last season and Dell cooked them in just the second game of his NFL career for seven catches, 72 yards, and a score in Week 2 last year.
Indy's secondary was also vulnerable to big plays as it gave up the third-most touchdowns of 20 or more yards. That should be enough to feel confident slotting Dell into those WR3/flex spots in fantasy for Week 1.
