BALLER MOVE: Start in All Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: TE1
ANALYSIS: Detroit Lions rookie tight end Sam LaPorta remains a top fantasy option at the position heading into Thursday's meeting with the Green Bay Packers, even after a disappointing effort last week against the Bears.
Despite playing 85% of Detroit's offense snaps, LaPorta had just three catches for 18 yards. That tied his fewest receptions of the season and set a new low for receiving yards. However, he did add a two-point conversion catch in the fourth quarter.
Even factoring that in, LaPorta has been a great player in his first NFL campaign. He's averaging 49.2 receiving yards per game on 5.0 receptions per contest and has found the end zone four times so far.
LaPorta also has one of the highest ceilings among tight ends. He has double-digit targets three times this season and last week's game was the first time he didn't have at least one reception of 10-plus yards.
In his first meeting with the Packers, LaPorta brought in four passes for 56 yards. He's not up there with the two elite players at tight end like Travis Kelce and T.J. Hockenson, but he's worth playing over anyone else except arguably Dalton Kincaid and George Kittle. Don't let last week scare you off.
