PrizePicks PGA DFS Prop Picks - Over/Under Props for the Scottish Open (Round 2)

Welcome to our PrizePicks PGA DFS prop picks for the Scottish Open (Round 2). The golf season is in full swing, and PrizePicks has an extensive selection of props for us to take advantage of! PrizePicks is a great DFS props site where you can choose to select plays in terms of fantasy points or singular stats. The goal is to build a 2-player, 3-player, 4-player, or 5-player entry and then select whether or not you want to play for the power play or the flex play. On the power play, you will need to be correct on each of your selections to win, and on the flex play, you will have a little more wiggle room for a chance to win some money back.

Our partners at PrizePicks offer some of the best and easiest-to-win PGA DFS games in the industry. There are no large-field tournaments filled with sharks where you have to get lucky just to place. At PrizePicks, you're not playing against other people, you're just playing against the projections, and the guys at PrizePicks have worked hard to give you really attractive opportunities to make some money. With promo code 'BALLER' you can get a 100% match on your deposit of up to $100.

This week, we're at The Renaissance Club for the Scottish Open! We are on week one of our two week European swing. The wind was fairly tame today and conditions were scoreable for the most part. That is expected to change the rest of the way as the wind is expected to pick up tomorrow afternoon and carry into the weekend. I and the entire Rotoballer PGA staff have put out 1,000s of words on the course, key stats, and field this week, so this article won't be focused on the minutiae of projecting outright winners or DFS pivot plays. Instead, I'll be solely focused on a few money-making opportunities I've found in PrizePicks' unique markets to help you build your bankroll as the PGA Tour season gets into full swing! Today's plays are specifically for round two on Friday, July 14th.

Single Stat PGA Totals - DFS Prop Picks

PrizePicks prop totals are not always available first thing in the morning, so check back during the day as other props may be added during the day.

Max Homa LESS than 68.5 Strokes

Max Homa shot a first round (-4) 66 this afternoon. Homa had the ball striking locked in, finishing the first round fourth in the field in strokes gained tee-to-green. He ranked T7 in the field in strokes gained total, gaining 3.71 on the field. What impressed me more about the first round was that Homa left strokes our there. On the front nine he three-putted from 22 feet to par an easy par-5. He finished the day 78th in the field in putting, losing strokes to the field. I expect Homa, a typically strong putter, to turn this around in round two.

As I mentioned in the introduction, there is an added element of wind being thrown into the mix for the rest of the week. As of now, it looks like Homa will have the opportunity to avoid the worst of this tomorrow with his morning tee time. Knowing what's coming the rest of the weekend, I expect the California alum to try to take advantage of the scoring conditions while they last.

Matt Fitzpatrick MORE Birdies or Better than Adrian Meronk

This is no brainer pick for me. First and foremost, Fitzpatrick is in a different class than Meronk. Secondly, the first round statistics heavily favor Fitz. Yes, they both had four birdies in round one. However, I'm more concerned with how they got there. Meronk finished the first round outside the top-50 in strokes gained off the tee and strokes gained approach. He finished 93rd on the day in strokes gained tee-to-green, losing almost half a stroke to the field. On the flip side, Fitzy finished round one inside the top 16 in the field in both strokes gained off the tee and strokes gained on approach.

Fitzpatrick, normally a great short game player, finished the round 152nd out of 155 players in strokes gained around the green. He lost strokes to the field around the green in his last start at the Travelers as well. I expect Fitzpatrick to get this fine tuned before the last major of the season next week. Look for Fitz to resolve the short game issues the rest of the week, which in theory will give him even more birdie opportunities.

Viktor Hovland LESS Birdies or Better than Max Homa

Not all missed cuts are created equally. Viktor Hovland has had a fantastic season and is heading into the final major of the season next week as one of the favorites. He finished second at the PGA Championship in May, 19th at the U.S. Open in June, and is looking to win his first major next week at the Open Championship, where he finished fourth last season. Hovland won the Memorial in early June and has his game in a good spot. I believe this week is more for reps for him than anything else.

I believe Max Homa is in search for more than Hovland this week. Homa finished T21 at the Rocket Mortgage after back-to-back missed cuts at the U.S. Open and the Travelers. Homa has a rough major track record that he is looking to turn around and I believe a strong performance this week would give him a ton of confidence at the Open Championship a week from today. As mentioned earlier in this article, Homa struck the ball well enough to contend in round one. I look for the same moving forward with an improvement on the putting greens.

  • Min Woo Lee MORE Birdies or Better than Thorbjorn Olesen
  • Scottie Scheffler LESS than 67.5 Strokes
