Yankees Return Josh Donaldson From Rehab Assignment
2 years agoThe New York Yankees returned infielder Josh Donaldson (hamstring) from his minor-league rehab assignment on Thursday. Donaldson's current rehab assignment will come to an end, but he won't be returning to the Yankees' big-league roster just yet. The 37-year-old veteran has had a setback while recovering from a right hamstring strain and is waiting for the results of another MRI exam. It's a disappointing development for Donaldson, who was already off to a poor start in 2023 after a bad season in 2022 for the Yankees. Until Donaldson returns, expect DJ LeMahieu to see most of the starts at third base, which has opened up playing time for young infielder Oswald Peraza at the keystone in the Bronx. It remains to be seen how much longer Donaldson will be out.
