Vikings Renegotiate Riley Reiff's Contract
4 years agoThe Minnesota Vikings renegotiated left tackle Riley Reiff's contract and gave him a $1 million signing bonus to make up for the $1 million playing-time incentive that he narrowly missed out on in 2020 after he sat out the regular season finale while on the COVID-19 list, according to a source. It's a nice gesture from Vikings ownership for a player that has been with the team for the last four seasons. A first-round pick (23rd overall) of the Detroit Lions in 2012, the 32-year-old has been extremely durable in his career and has never played fewer than 13 games in a single season. Reiff will continue to protect quarterback Kirk Cousins' blind side in 2021 for an offense that was among the best in the NFL in 2020.
