Victor Scott II Exits Early With Sprained Ankle
Victor Scott II (ankle) sprained his left ankle and had to leave early on Saturday against the New York Yankees, John Denton of MLB.com reports. Scott suffered the injury trying to rob Aaron Judge of a home run in the third inning. He stayed in the game and played through the discomfort until the Cardinals replaced him with pinch-hitter Garrett Hampson in the sixth. Scott ended the night 1-for-2 with an RBI and a run scored, and the 24-year-old speedster is now hitting .223/.311/.312 with five homers, 35 RBI, 49 runs scored, and 31 stolen bases over 402 plate appearances. It's not yet clear whether he'll require a stint on the 10-day injured list.
