Tyron Smith Not Expected To Play Against Broncos
3 years agoDallas Cowboys left tackle Tyron Smith (ankle) is not expected to play in the Week 9 game against the Denver Broncos, according to head coach Mike McCarthy. However, McCarthy also said, "I'm not looking at this as a long-term injury at all." Smith aggravated his ankle in the Sunday night win over the Minnesota Vikings and is dealing with a bone spur in his ankle. The 30-year-old left the game against Minnesota and never returned, with Ty Nsekhe finishing out the game on quarterback Cooper Rush's blind side. Smith's absence will be a downgrade for the returning Dak Prescott (calf), but the good news is the Broncos just traded their best pass-rusher, Von Miller, to the Los Angeles Rams this week at the trade deadline.
