Tyler Mahle Strikes Out Nine Over Six Shutout Innings
Tyler Mahle was dominant in a 4-0 win over the Los Angeles Angels on Tuesday. Mahle threw six shutout innings while allowing two hits, walking three, and striking out nine to improve his record to 3-0 on the season. The veteran hurler was on top of his game in the start, picking up 18 swinging strikes against the Angels. Mahle has been excellent to start the year for the Rangers, posting a 0.92 ERA, 0.86 WHIP, and 21 strikeouts over 19 2/3 innings of work. He will be put to the test in his next start, however, as he is slated to face off against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday.
