Thairo Estrada Takes On-Field Batting Practice
Thairo Estrada (thumb) took on-field batting practice at Coors Field on Wednesday before the series finale against the St. Louis Cardinals, according to The Denver Gazette's Kevin Henry. It's a big step for Estrada as he tries to return from a left-thumb sprain that landed him on the 10-day injured list last Friday. The 29-year-old is eligible to rejoin the Rockies at any time, but it remains to be seen if the team wants to see him go on a minor-league rehab assignment first. If he doesn't need a rehab assignment, it's possible that he'll be activated in time for this weekend's series against the Baltimore Orioles. Even though he's hit .284 (33-for-116) since joining the Rockies late in 2025 due to injury, Estrada doesn't provide much for fantasy managers in the way of power or speed. He has only two homers, 18 RBI and one stolen base.
