Teams Calling About Carson Wentz Trade
4 years agoTeams have started calling the Philadelphia Eagles about a potential trade for quarterback Carson Wentz, according to sources. However, the Eagles are in no rush to trade Wentz and currently intend for him to return in 2021 under new head coach Nick Sirianni. But they have fielded calls and general manager Howie Roseman will always listen. It's unclear what the asking price for Wentz might be after Detroit just acquired two first-round picks, a third-rounder and Jared Goff for Matthew Stafford. The Colts will always be linked to Wentz because of their need for a QB and his familiarity with head coach Frank Reich. Trading Wentz before his $10 million roster bonus is due on March 19 would give Philly a more manageable dead-money charge of $33.8 million for 2021. Wentz has not formally requested a trade, but his relationship with the team is strained after he was benched in favor of rookie Jalen Hurts last season.
