Sterling Shepard Injured Again Monday Night And Won't Return
3 years agoNew York Giants wide receiver Sterling Shepard (quadriceps) suffered a quad injury at the end of the second quarter on Monday night against the Kansas City Chiefs and has been ruled out for the rest of the contest. Shepard has been battling a hamstring injury for most of the season, but it was his quad that gave out on him in this game. Dante Pettis (shoulder) was also injured earlier in the game and won't return. The Giants were already without Kenny Golladay (knee), so now they'll be down to rookie Kadarius Toney, Darius Slayton and John Ross as their top three receivers against KC. Knowing Shepard, there's a good chance he won't play in Week 9 against the Las Vegas Raiders. Shepard caught four of his seven targets for only 25 yards before suffering the quad injury.
