Sterling Shepard, Darius Slayton Remain Out
3 years agoNew York Giants wide receivers Sterling Shepard (hamstring) and Darius Slayton (hamstring) remained out of practice for the second straight day this week on Thursday. Both players missed the Week 4 win over the New Orleans Saints last week. Shepard appears to be further along in his recovery than Slayton, and both players will need at least a limited practice session on Friday to avoid missing their second straight game in Week 5 against the division-rival Dallas Cowboys. With Shepard and Slayton out last week, rookie Kadarius Toney saw a team-high nine targets and caught six of them for 78 yards. Kenny Golladay had over 100 yards receiving, and John Ross scored a 50-plus-yard touchdown through the air. If Shepard and Slayton miss another game, Golladay will be the safest fantasy option as a WR3/flex against an improved Cowboys defense.
