1 year agoTampa Bay Rays left-hander Shane McClanahan (forearm) is unlikely to pitch again this year. "Highly unlikely he will pitch again this year but again, I'm speaking out of turn until Dr. Meister weighs in and then when Shane makes a decision," manager Kevin Cash said on Tuesday. McClanahan visited with Dr. Neal ElAttrache in Los Angeles on Monday and was scheduled to meet with Dr. Keith Meister this week as well, and apparently he didn't get favorable recommendations on his left-forearm injury. There's a possibility that the 26-year-old southpaw will need Tommy John surgery, which would also sideline him for most, if not all, of the 2024 season. It's a crushing blow for the Rays and fantasy managers, as McClanahan is a fantasy ace when healthy.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
