Samuel Aldegheri Strikes Out Nine In Second Consecutive Start
6 months agoPhiladelphia Phillies starting pitching prospect Samuel Aldegheri tossed five innings of two-run ball with five hits, two walks, and nine punchouts. Aldegheri struck out nine in his previous start as well on June 13, where he tossed six shutout frames and allowed just two hits and two walks. Through his first extended look at High-A ball the 22-year-old southpaw has struck out an eye-catching 83 batters in just 59 innings. He currently sits with a 2.75 ERA and 0.97 WHIP. This is a great sign, as he posted a 3.86 ERA and 1.32 WHIP in 67 ⅔ innings at Single-A last summer. Aldegheri is a name to keep a close eye on in dynasty leagues, as he is showcasing elite strikeout potential.
