Sam Williams Arrested On Weapons, Controlled-Substance Charges
1 year agoDallas Cowboys defensive end Sam Williams was arrested on Sunday night on charges of possessing a controlled substance and unlawful carrying of a weapon in Frisco, Texas. He's being charged with alleged possession of marijuana, which is a low-level state felony, but the unlawful carrying of a weapon is classified as a misdemeanor. It's possible that Williams could face a minor suspension from the league for the arrest. The 24-year-old pass-rusher is entering his second season in the NFL after he was the 56th overall pick in the second round in 2022. Williams was also charged with misdemeanor reckless driving in January, so this isn't his first off-the-field incident this year. In 15 games (zero starts) in his rookie campaign, he had 22 tackles (15 solo), four sacks, 10 tackles for loss, nine QB hits, a forced fumble and three fumble recoveries.
