Sam Darnold Not Expected To Play Monday Night
4 years agoNew York Jets head coach Adam Gase said that quarterback Sam Darnold (shoulder), who aggravated the AC joint injury in his right shoulder last week, is not expected to start on Monday night against the division-rival Patriots. Darnold will officially be listed as doubtful. The third-year quarterback has regressed across the board in 2020, has dealt with injury and hasn't had much help around him. He has been unplayable, even in leagues that start two QBs. Veteran Joe Flacco is now in line to start his third game of the season with Darnold unavailable. Like Darnold, Flacco will be a desperation low-end QB2 play in superflex leagues. The Jets have their bye coming in Week 10, so Darnold will have an extra week to heal up.
