Sam Aldegheri Strikes Out Seven on Wednesday
Sam Aldegheri tossed 4 2/3 innings of one-run ball (unearned run) and did not allow a hit during his contest against Double-A Biloxi on Wednesday. In this outing, Aldegheri struck out seven and served up two free passes. This was a much-needed bounce-back outing for the southpaw, as he allowed 13 runs over his last 15 2/3 innings of work (three starts). During this stretch, Aldegheri struck out 12 batters but allowed a hefty 11 walks. Last summer, Aldegheri made his MLB debut and tossed 13 innings to the tune of a 4.85 ERA with a 1.92 WHIP. Aldegheri will likely need to move up to Triple-A before getting the call to Los Angeles. However, he was able to skip Triple-A last season before making his MLB debut.
