Ruben Tejada Agrees With Phillies
4 years agoThe Philadelphia Phillies agreed to a minor league deal with free-agent infielder Ruben Tejada on Wednesday. This is just a depth signing for the Phillies, as Tejada last played in the big leagues with the New York Mets in 2019, when he went hitless in just nine at-bats. Prior to that, Tejada hit .230/.293/.283 with no home runs and five RBI in 41 games (124 plate appearances) with the Baltimore Orioles in 2017. In nine big league seasons, the 31-year-old has a career .250/.324/.317 slash line with 10 home runs, 158 RBI and 16 stolen bases on 663 games with the Mets, St. Louis Cardinals, San Francisco Giants and Orioles. Tejada will continue to remain firmly off the fantasy radar as a glove-first player.
