4 years agoThe Philadelphia Phillies agreed to a minor league deal with free-agent infielder Ruben Tejada on Wednesday. This is just a depth signing for the Phillies, as Tejada last played in the big leagues with the New York Mets in 2019, when he went hitless in just nine at-bats. Prior to that, Tejada hit .230/.293/.283 with no home runs and five RBI in 41 games (124 plate appearances) with the Baltimore Orioles in 2017. In nine big league seasons, the 31-year-old has a career .250/.324/.317 slash line with 10 home runs, 158 RBI and 16 stolen bases on 663 games with the Mets, St. Louis Cardinals, San Francisco Giants and Orioles.
