Red Sox Have Made Multi-Year Offer To Nathan Eovaldi
2 years agoThe Boston Red Sox have made a multi-year contract offer to try and re-sign right-hander Nathan Eovaldi, according to a source. However, it doesn't mean that a deal between the two sides is imminent. Boston also extended the one-year, $19.65 million qualifying offer to Eovaldi, and there's still a chance he could accept that and hit the open market again after the 2023 season. The 32-year-old wasn't at his best last season while dealing with back and right shoulder injuries. He finished the 2022 campaign with a 6-3 record, 3.87 ERA (4.30 FIP), a 1.23 WHIP and a 103:20 K:BB in 109 1/3 innings over his 20 starts. With better health next year, Eovaldi could put up better numbers, either back in Boston or elsewhere.
