Carolina Panthers running back Rico Dowdle maintained a decent workload in Week 4, registering nine carries for 32 yards and securing one pass for -2 receiving yards in Sunday's 42-13 loss to the New England Patriots. With Chuba Hubbard (calf) carrying a 'limited' designation all week in practice, Dowdle nearly matched his rushing attempts on Sunday (Hubbard had 10 carries), though Hubbard averaged 1.5 yards more per rush. However, a notable development to monitor was the increased involvement of rookie Trevor Etienne, who carried the ball seven times for 33 yards. Ultimately, Dowdle's and Etienne's involvement is likely a direct result of the Panthers limiting Hubbard's usage due to his calf injury and the Panthers being down by a big margin. However, the backfield situation must be monitored closely as the Panthers prepare for a Week 5 clash against the Miami Dolphins.--Jp Sticco
