Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Jackson Chourio (hamstring) is scheduled to play seven innings in the outfield with Triple-A Nashville on Tuesday. The hope is that Chourio is ready to rejoin the Brewers roster by this weekend. Chourio reportedly looked tentative while running the bases over the weekend. The team has decided to give him a few extra rehab games and hope he gets to 100 percent healthy. Barring any setbacks, Chourio should be active for the upcoming three-game series against the Toronto Blue Jays. Fantasy managers will need to check back later in the week for another update.--Andy WebbSource: Adam McCalvy

Athletics starting pitcher Jacob Lopez (elbow) was placed on the 15-day injured list on Tuesday. Lopez suffered a left elbow sprain during Sunday's game. The southpaw was crushed for nine earned runs over two innings of work during that outing. Despite that, Lopez holds a quality 4.08 ERA and a 113/37 K/BB ratio across 21 games (17 starts) with the A's this season. The organization is hopeful that Lopez can return in mid-September. However, the A's season is basically over, so there is no incentive to rush Lopez back to the mound. In a corresponding move, right-hander Mason Barnett was recalled from Triple-A. It's unclear who is going to take over the vacant spot in the starting rotation.--Andy WebbSource: Athletics PR

Philadelphia Phillies relief pitcher Jordan Romano (finger) was placed on the 15-day injured list ahead of Tuesday's game against the New York Mets. This is probably the best move for the Phillies given how much Romano has struggled lately. The right-hander has allowed 10 earned runs over his last four outings. Now, he'll get a few weeks to recover from his finger issue and hopefully get back on track. In a corresponding move, relievers Daniel Robert and Lou Trivino have been recalled from Triple-A. The Phillies had two open spots with Romano going down and Joe Ross being released. None of these pitchers figure to have any fantasy value.--Andy WebbSource: Philadelphia Phillies

San Francisco Giants relief pitcher Randy Rodriguez (elbow) was placed on the 15-day injured list on Tuesday. Rodriguez suffered an elbow sprain during Sunday's contest. The team gave him a few days to rest, but ultimately decided to place him on the injured list. The assumption is that Ryan Walker will take over as the primary closer in the absence of Rodriguez. The Giants are hopeful that Rodriguez will only require the minimum 15 days before returning to the Giants bullpen. He holds an outstanding 1.78 ERA with four saves across 50 appearances this season. Walker could be worth adding in fantasy formats where saves matter.--Andy WebbSource: San Francisco Giants

Seattle Mariners outfielder Dominic Canzone (forearm) is back in the starting lineup ahead of Tuesday's game against the San Diego Padres. Canzone is back in the mix following a six-game absence due to a forearm issue. He received a cortisone injection a few days ago and it appears to have helped. Canzone will cover right field and bat seventh versus right-hander Dylan Cease on Tuesday. It's worth noting that Victor Robles is out of the lineup, but he figures to split up playing time with Canzone in right field. Canzone doesn't offer enough upside to warrant rostering in most fantasy formats.--Andy WebbSource: mlb.com

Texas Rangers right-hander Nathan Eovaldi (shoulder) is dealing with a right rotator-cuff strain and is likely done for the rest of the season, according to general manager/president of baseball operations Chris Young. It's a huge blow for fantasy managers and the Rangers, who are slowly but surely falling out of the playoff picture in the American League. At this point, fantasy managers in redraft leagues can probably send the 35-year-old veteran to the waiver wire. Eovaldi looked great in his last start last Friday against the Cleveland Guardians, allowing just one run over seven innings to lower his season ERA to 1.73 (2.78 FIP). He will finish his 14th year in the big leagues with an 11-3 record, league-best .786 win-loss percentage, a 0.85 WHIP and 129:21 K:BB over his 22 starts. It's unclear at this time who will take his rotation spot in Texas.--Keith HernandezSource: MLB.com - Kennedi Landry

Houston Astros outfielder/designated hitter Yordan Alvarez (hand) was activated from the 60-day injured list and is in the starting lineup for Tuesday's contest against the visiting Colorado Rockies and right-hander Tanner Gordon at Daikin Park, according to Chandler Rome of The Athletic. Alvarez is starting in left field and will bat cleanup for the Astros in his first game back in the big leagues since May 2. The 28-year-old left-handed slugger was looking good at the plate on the farm during his minor-league rehab assignment, but it remains to be seen if Alvarez can turn things around in the big leagues to close out the year after struggling early on before landing on the IL. The three-time All-Star and former Silver Slugger winner was hitting just .210 (21-for-100) with three homers and 18 RBI before his hand injury, but he could be a difference-maker in fantasy down the stretch if he's right.--Keith HernandezSource: The Athletic - Chandler Rome

The Pittsburgh Pirates announced on Tuesday that they reinstated outfielder Oneil Cruz (concussion) from the seven-day concussion injured list and optioned outfielder Ronny Simon to Triple-A Indianapolis in a corresponding move. The Pirates have not released their starting lineup yet for Tuesday's contest on the road at Busch Stadium against the division-rival St. Louis Cardinals, but we would expect Cruz to be back in there in center field versus right-hander Andre Pallante. The 26-year-old power/speed threat has been out of action for the last two weeks due to a concussion, but he's back now and should be rostered in all fantasy formats despite the fact that he's hitting just north of the Mendoza Line. The Dominican outfielder has hit jut .122 (5-for-41) in 11 games in August, but he's also provided fantasy managers with 18 homers and a league-leading 34 steals on the year.--Keith HernandezSource: Pittsburgh Pirates

The New York Mets are promoting top right-handed pitching prospect Jonah Tong to the major leagues, according to Will Sammon of The Athletic. Tong is currently considered the team's No. 2-ranked prospect and the No. 52 overall-ranked prospect in the sport on MLB.com. Tong joined the Mets in the seventh round of the 2022 MLB Draft. This season, the right-hander has been one of the most dominant pitchers in the entire minor leagues. He opened the season with Double-A and tossed 102 innings to the tune of a stellar 1.59 ERA and a 0.92 WHIP. During this stretch, Tong struck out an eye-catching 162 hitters. He then only needed two starts at Triple-A to prove he was ready to join the majors. In this brief taste, Tong tossed 11 2/3 innings with a 17:3 K:BB. Given his immense strikeout upside, Tong should be viewed as a priority waiver-wire target in all formats.--Andy SmithSource: Will Sammon

Tampa Bay Rays outfield prospect Brendan Summerhill (undisclosed) was placed on the seven-day injured list at Single-A Charleston on Monday. It is not clear what is ailing the Rays' eighth-ranked prospect, but he was replaced ahead of his fourth at-bat in the sixth inning of Sunday's contest. The 42nd pick of this year's MLB Draft had gotten off to a good start in his professional debut at Single-A, going 12-for-36 (.333) with two doubles, a triple, five stolen bases, and a 6:5 BB:K in 10 games. The 21-year-old has excellent bat-to-ball skills and a solid overall toolset, which makes him a prospect worth keeping an eye on for dynasty purposes, although we may have to wait until next year to see more if this recent injury ends his season.--Jarod RuppSource: MiLB.com

New York Mets pitching prospect Will Watson has been promoted to Double-A Binghamton, his second promotion this season, after an impressive showing at High-A Brooklyn. The Mets' 11th-ranked prospect authored a 1.70 ERA, 1.15 WHIP, and an 18.9 percent K-BB% in 13 starts (63 2/3 innings pitched) for the Cyclones after his promotion from Single-A St. Lucie in June. The 22-year-old has a solid fastball/slider/changeup mix that he'll feature at Double-A, and he could be in the majors by 2027, however, he's not on the dynasty league radar at the moment.--Jarod RuppSource: MiLB.com

Los Angeles Dodgers right-hander Brock Stewart (shoulder) has resumed playing light catch after being shut down from throwing for a week, per MLB.com. Stewart, who was acquired by the Dodgers at the trade deadline at the end of July, was placed on the 15-day injured list on Aug. 12 with right-shoulder inflammation. If he can continue to build up his arm after being shut down, Stewart could be an option for L.A.'s bullpen by the middle of September. The 33-year-old had a 2.38 ERA (3.09 FIP) and a 1.09 WHIP with 41 strikeouts and 11 walks in his 34 relief innings for the Minnesota Twins earlier this year before being traded to the Dodgers. He has made only four relief appearances for the Blue and allowed two earned runs on six hits while walking two and striking out three. Stewart has limited fantasy appeal as a middle reliever.--Keith HernandezSource: MLB.com

Milwaukee Brewers third base prospect Brock Wilken (knee) was activated from the Double-A Biloxi 7-day injured list on Tuesday. The Brewers' 17th-ranked prospect was recovering from a dislocated patella tendon in his left knee and has not played in a game since June 18. The 23-year-old was hitting just .230 on the season, but had hit safely in 11 of his last 13 games before the injury, going 17-for-50 (.340) with nine doubles and six home runs (.880 SLG) during that stretch. With 18 home runs in 65 games, the former first-rounder has big-time power, and although it comes with an elevated strikeout rate, he's been able to offset that with a career 15.9 percent walk rate in the minors (20.1 percent in 2025). He'll make a push toward Triple-A over the remainder of the season and into next, and should be in line for a major league debut next year.--Jarod RuppSource: Biloxi Shuckers
