Randy Rodriguez Placed on Injured List
San Francisco Giants relief pitcher Randy Rodriguez (elbow) was placed on the 15-day injured list on Tuesday. Rodriguez suffered an elbow sprain during Sunday's contest. The team gave him a few days to rest, but ultimately decided to place him on the injured list. The assumption is that Ryan Walker will take over as the primary closer in the absence of Rodriguez. The Giants are hopeful that Rodriguez will only require the minimum 15 days before returning to the Giants bullpen. He holds an outstanding 1.78 ERA with four saves across 50 appearances this season. Walker could be worth adding in fantasy formats where saves matter.
