Nathan Eovaldi Likely Done for the Season
Nathan Eovaldi (shoulder) is dealing with a right rotator-cuff strain and is likely done for the rest of the season, according to general manager/president of baseball operations Chris Young. It's a huge blow for fantasy managers and the Rangers, who are slowly but surely falling out of the playoff picture in the American League. At this point, fantasy managers in redraft leagues can probably send the 35-year-old veteran to the waiver wire. Eovaldi looked great in his last start last Friday against the Cleveland Guardians, allowing just one run over seven innings to lower his season ERA to 1.73 (2.78 FIP). He will finish his 14th year in the big leagues with an 11-3 record, league-best .786 win-loss percentage, a 0.85 WHIP and 129:21 K:BB over his 22 starts. It's unclear at this time who will take his rotation spot in Texas.
