Brewers Place Trevor Megill on Injured List With Flexor Strain
Trevor Megill (elbow) on the 15-day injured list (retroactive to Aug. 25) with a right flexor strain and signed right-hander Erick Fedde to an undisclosed one-year deal in a corresponding move. The team also moved right-hander Logan Henderson (elbow) to the 60-day IL, ending his season. This could help explain why Megill has blown three of his last four save chances for the Brew Crew by allowing four runs (three earned) on seven hits in four innings. The Brewers haven't officially announced who will take over the club's closing role in Megill's absence, but the favorite should probably be right-hander Abner Uribe. Fantasy managers in need of saves should run to the waiver wire now and add him if he's available. The 31-year-old Megill has a career-high 30 saves this year and should be stashed in all fantasy leagues. UPDATE: Imaging showed a mild Grade 1 strain, and Megill hopes it will be close to the minimal IL time. “My intentions are to be off on 15 (days) and I'm gonna do everything in my power to make that happen," he said.
