FOX Sports' Jordan Schultz reports that it's his understanding that the tush-push ban is unlikely to have enough votes to be banned in 2025, and there's a better chance that discussions about the controversial play will be tabled for a future owners meeting. Some teams are advocating for the play to be banned, but one source said, "the current language in the proposal is just not clear enough and can easily be manipulated." The Green Bay Packers were the team that initially proposed the ban of the play that the Philadelphia Eagles run so well, and it earned the support of 16 NFL teams. However, NFL bylaws require a minimum of 24 votes to approve a change to a rule. It sounds like the topic will be revisited at the next owners meeting from May 20-21 in Minnesota. The Packers' proposal would prohibit an offensive player from immediately pushing a teammate who is lined up directly behind the snapper and receives the snap.--Keith Hernandez

Starting in 2025, kickoff touchbacks will now result in the ball being spotted at the 35-yard line instead of the 30-yard line after the NFL owners voted to change the rule on Tuesday, according to NFL.com. The dynamic kickoff debuted in 2024, and this is seen as an enhancement to the new-look kickoff. The league saw 332 more kickoff returns in 2024 compared to 2023, and the new field position is expected to discourage kickoff units from kicking the ball into the end zone. While this does not directly affect all fantasy football leagues, some leagues reward points to individual players for kickoff-return touchdowns, and there could be more special-teams touchdowns, leading to more fantasy scoring for D/ST units starting next season.--Jackson Sparks - RotoBaller

Given the situation surrounding Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker this offseason, head coach John Harbaugh acknowledged that the team will most likely be targeting a kicker in the upcoming NFL draft in April. "It's something we have to do, no matter what, at this point in time. You always got to do your due diligence. We'll be prepared to do that on draft day if we feel like we need to and if the right guy's there," Harbaugh said. Not only did Tucker have the worst season of his career in 2024, going 22-for-30 on field-goal attempts and 60-for-62 on his extra-point opportunities, but he was also accused of inappropriate behavior by 16 massage therapists and is being investigated on allegations of sexual misconduct. The Ravens are waiting for the league to finish its investigation, but there's a good chance the 35-year-old Tucker will eventually be cut and will face a lengthy suspension in 2025.--Keith Hernandez

The Baltimore Ravens announced on Friday that they reached a three-year contract extension with head coach John Harbaugh. The new deal will keep the 62-year-old in Baltimore through the 2028 season. He was entering the final year of his previous contract that he had signed back in March of 2022, and it will continue a trend of the Ravens not allowing Harbaugh to start a regular season on the final year of his contract since he was initially hired in 2008. He is already the franchise's all-time winningest head coach with a 185-115 record over 17 seasons. His 12 playoff appearances are second-most in the NFL behind KC's Andy Reid (14), and he also led the team to a Super Bowl victory in 2012. Harbaugh is the second-longest tenured coach behind only the Steelers' Mike Tomlin. Although Harbaugh has had plenty of success in Baltimore, the Ravens have only gone past the Divisional Round once since winning the Super Bowl 12 years ago.--Keith Hernandez

The Atlanta Falcons agreed to terms on an undisclosed three-year deal on Thursday with German-born kicker Lenny Krieg, sources told NFL Network's Mike Garafolo. Krieg visited with the Falcons a day after he kicked at the league's International Player Pathway program. Although he had other visits scheduled with NFL teams, the Falcons liked him enough to get a deal done before that could happen. Atlanta still has Younghoe Koo on their roster, but he missed three games in 2024 due to a hip injury, finished the year on Injured Reserve, and also made a career-low 74 percent of his 34 field-goal attempts (6-for-9 from 50-plus yards) in his sixth year with the organization. Riley Patterson is also on the team's roster at kicker this offseason. Krieg and Patterson will give Koo competition in training camp this summer, but as long as Koo is healthy, he'll be the favorite to remain as Atlanta's primary kicker.--Keith Hernandez

New England Patriots general manager Eliot Wolf said last month that the team would take the "best player available" in the upcoming NFL draft with the fourth overall pick and doubled down on the statement again on Sunday during the team's annual draft party for season-ticket holders. The Patriots could still need a starting left tackle to protect second-year quarterback Drake Maye when the draft kicks off in April, which would make it a tough decision to pass on the likes of Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter or Colorado two-way player Travis Hunter. If New England doesn't take the best player available at No. 4 overall and goes with need, the pick could very well be LSU offensive tackle Will Campbell. According to sources, the Patriots like Campbell despite his short arms, and they think that Hunter is the best player in the draft at both cornerback and receiver.--Keith Hernandez

The Tennessee Titans signed former New England Patriots and Washington Commanders kicker Joey Slye to an undisclosed deal on Monday, according to agent Glenn Schwartzman. Slye signed with the Patriots last year and beat out Chad Ryland for kicking duties. The 28-year-old then went 26-for-33 on his field-goal attempts (6-for-9 from 50-plus yards) and 25-for-26 on his extra-point tries in 17 games played. The Titans will be the sixth team that Slye has kicked for in his NFL career after going undrafted out of Virginia Tech in 2018. He has a career 81.7 percent success rate on his field-goal attempts in 95 games played. He's currently the only kicker on Tennessee's roster, but it wouldn't be a surprise for the Titans to bring in competition for training camp this summer. Slye is unlikely to be much of a fantasy option in 12-team leagues this fall.--Keith Hernandez

The Denver Broncos are signing veteran punter Matt Haack, according to Parker Gabriel of the Denver Post. The 30-year-old went undrafted out of Arizona State in 2017 and has spent time with seven NFL organizations. He played in four games for the New York Giants a season ago. Overall, Haack has punted 453 times for an average of 44.7 yards per attempt with 169 punts pinned inside the 20-yard-line in 103 career games with the Miami Dolphins, Buffalo Bills, Indianapolis Colts, Cleveland Browns, and New York Giants.--Jackson Sparks - RotoBaller

The Miami Dolphins have signed free-agent punter Ryan Stonehouse over the weekend. The details of the contract weren't released, but it's assumed to be a one-year deal for possibly league minimum. Stonehouse lead the league in punt yards with 4,779 during his rookie season with the Tennessee Titans. He was on pace for another stellar season in 2023, but suffered a season-ending knee injury 12 games into the season. The 25-year-old saw his numbers take a dip in 2024, which is likely why the Titans decided to go in a different direction. It's worth noting that Jake Bailey is still on the Dolphins roster, so this could be to add competition during training camp.--Andy Webb

The Indianapolis Colts announced on Thursday that they have signed free-agent kicker Spencer Shrader to an undisclosed deal. Shrader will return to Indianapolis after making all three of his extra points in the Week 1 loss to the division-rival Houston Texans. The 25-year-old also appeared in games with the New York Jets and Kansas City Chiefs in his first year in the NFL in 2024, going a combined 5-for-5 on field-goal attempts (zero attempts from 50-plus yards) and 9-for-9 on extra-point tries. Shrader didn't miss a single kick, but it was also a small sample size. He was brought in to compete with veteran Matt Gay this summer after Gay made just 83.8 percent of his 37 field-goal attempts in his second year with the team. Whoever wins the competition should be left to the waiver wire in 12-team fantasy leagues.--Keith Hernandez

The NFL announced the 35 compensatory picks on Tuesday for the 2025 NFL draft this April, with the Dallas Cowboys, Miami Dolphins and Baltimore Ravens having the most with four each. In total, 35 selections were awarded to 15 teams. The Los Angeles Chargers, San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks each have three compensatory picks. Under the league rules for compensatory picks, a team losing more or better compensatory free agents than it acquires in the previous year is eligible to receive compensatory draft picks. They are positioned within the third through seventh rounds based on the value of the compensatory free agents lost. Compensatory free agents are determined by a formula based on salary, playing time and postseason honors.--Keith Hernandez

The Washington Commanders re-signed kicker Zane Gonzalez to an undisclosed deal on Thursday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Gonzalez took over for an injured Austin Seibert (hip) before Week 13 last season and finished the year (including three playoff games) by making 12 of his 15 field-goal attempts and all 27 of his extra-point tries in nine games. That was enough to convince the Commanders that the 29-year-old deserves a shot to open the 2025 season as their primary placekicker. Gonzalez was returning to the NFL in 2024 for the first time since he kicked in 12 games for the Carolina Panthers back in 2021. Washington is one of the better up-and-coming offenses in the NFL after quarterback Jayden Daniels led them to the NFC Championship in his rookie season, so at the very least, Gonzalez will be a fantasy streaming option to open next season.--Keith Hernandez

The Green Bay Packers agreed to re-sign kicker Brandon McManus on Tuesday to a three-year, $15.3 million deal, including a $5 million signing bonus, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The deal was negotiated by Drew and Jason Rosenhaus. McManus joined the Packers midway through the 2024 and helped stabilize a position that had been a headache for the team ever since Mason Crosby left. The 33-year-old veteran made 20 of his 21 field-goal attempts, including all three from 50-plus yards out, and all 30 of his extra-point tries in 11 regular-season games. In the wild-card game loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, he made one of his two field goals and his only point-after attempt. Given the upside of Green Bay's offense with quarterback Jordan Love, McManus should enter the 2025 season as a fringe top-12 fantasy option, at worst.--Keith Hernandez

The Detroit Lions recently cleared veteran kicker Michael Badgley (groin) from the torn groin that kept him out for all of last season, a source tells NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. While Badgley has made a full recovery, he's now set to become a free agent next week. With the 29-year-old out of commission all year, Jake Bates served as Detroit's regular kicker and was very reliable, missing only three of his 29 field-goal attempts in 17 regular-season games while missing three of his 67 extra-point attempts in his first year in the league. Because of how good Bates looked in 2024, it's likely that the Lions will let Badgley walk in free agency as he heads into his eighth year in the NFL. Badgley has a career 82.4 percent success rate on 119 field-goal attempts in 64 games played. In four games with Detroit in 2023, he made all four of his FGs and went 13-for-15 on extra points.--Keith Hernandez

ESPN's Dan Graziano writes that the Atlanta Falcons have some interest in trading the No. 1 5 overall pick in the upcoming NFL draft in order to collect more draft capital, depending on how the first half of the first round shakes out. In addition, Graziano thinks the Falcons are likely to use most, if not all, of their early-round picks in 2025 on defensive players after they spent $100 million and the eighth overall pick on the quarterback position last year in Kirk Cousins and Michael Penix Jr., respectively. Atlanta is desperately looking to upgrade a defense that ranked 23rd in points allowed and 20th in EPA per play a year ago via the draft. There's even more urgency for the Falcons to build up their defensive depth through the draft because of the fact that they have several key veteran players on that side of the ball set to hit free agency in March.--Keith Hernandez
