Trea Turner to Return on Sunday
Trea Turner (hamstring) will come off the 10-day injured list before the team's regular-season finale against the Minnesota Twins on Sunday. Manager Rob Thomson said the plan is to give Turner a few innings at shortstop as the second-seeded Phillies gear up for the playoffs. They've gone about three weeks without Turner, who strained his right hamstring in a loss to the Miami Marlins on Sept. 7. The three-time All-Star is in position to win his second National League batting title and has slashed .305/.356/.458 with 15 homers, 69 RBI, 94 runs scored, and 36 stolen bases in 140 games and 637 plate appearances.

Jake Meyers Heads to 10-Day Injured List
Jake Meyers (calf) was placed on the 10-day injured list on Saturday. Meyers was scratched from Friday's contest due to right calf soreness. He wasn't feeling any better on Saturday, so the team has decided to place him on the shelf. Meyers would be eligible to return to action if the Astros make the ALDS, assuming they make the postseason at all. He'll finish his season with a .292/.354/.373 slash line with three home runs, 24 RBI, and 16 steals. In a corresponding move, Brice Matthews has been recalled to take over the active roster spot.

Tyler Glasnow to Throw Shortened Start on Saturday
Tyler Glasnow won't make a full length start during Saturday's outing against the Seattle Mariners. The Dodgers have already clinched a playoff berth, so they aren't going to push Glasnow too hard in a fairly meaningless game. He's expected to throw 3-to-5 innings depending on his pitch count. After that, Andrew Heaney will come in and pitch as the bulk option out of the bullpen. Fantasy managers should start Glasnow, but don't expect him to pitch deep into this contest

Chris Paddack Named Sunday's Starter
Chris Paddack will take the mound for Sunday's game against the Boston Red Sox. After clinching a playoff berth, the Tigers have decided to rest ace starting pitcher Tarik Skubal. The Tigers will save him for the playoffs and let Paddack pitch in the regular-season finale. Paddack has been awful with a 7.82 ERA, 1.11 WHIP across 12.2 innings in September. Fantasy managers should avoid streaming him for Sunday's slate.

Sean Manaea to Start on Sunday
Sean Manaea will take the mound for Sunday's game against the Miami Marlins. The Mets will hand the ball to Manaea in the important regular-season finale. They'll need to lean on their left-hander who has struggled in September. In five outings this month, Manaea holds a 7.64 ERA and a 1.42 WHIP, so he could be on a short leash. It'll be interesting to see how the Mets play this one with their season on the line. Manaea isn't a recommended streaming option given his struggles this month.

Ramon Laureano Lands on 10-Day Injured List
Ramon Laureano (finger) was placed on the 10-day injured list on Saturday, retroactive to Sept. 25. Laureano suffered a fractured finger during Wednesday's contest. As a result, Laureano will head to the shelf and will miss the upcoming Wild Card series against the Chicago Cubs. He'll finish his regular season with a .281/.342/.512 slash line with 24 home runs, 76 RBI, and seven stolen bases. Gavin Sheets figures to take over in left field while Laureano is out. In a corresponding move, Will Wagner has been recalled to take over the spot on the active roster.

Ketel Marte Sitting on Saturday
Ketel Marte is out of the lineup on Saturday against the San Diego Padres. It'll be the first day off since Sept. 12 for Marte, who has gone 12-for-30 with two homers, five RBI, and seven runs scored during a seven-game hitting streak. The three-time All-Star has slashed .283/.376/.512 with 27 HRs, 71 RBI, 86 runs, and four stolen bases in 125 games and 553 plate appearances this year. With Marte on the bench on Saturday, Connor Kaiser will play second and hit ninth against right-hander Michael King.

Corbin Carroll Resting on Saturday
Corbin Carroll isn't in the starting lineup against the San Diego Padres on Saturday. Jorge Barrosa will fill in for Carroll in right field and bat eighth in a meeting with right-hander Michael King. With the Diamondbacks out of playoff contention, Carroll will finally get a night off for the first time since July 11. That ends a 65-game streak in which he either lined up in the outfield or served as the Diamondbacks' designated hitter. The newly minted 30-30 club member has played 143 games this season and slashed .259/.343/.541 with 31 homers, 32 stolen bases, 84 RBI, and 107 runs scored over 642 plate appearances.

Max Kepler Out Again on Saturday
Max Kepler (illness) will sit out a second straight game on Saturday against the Minnesota Twins. Kepler hasn't played since he exited a win over the Miami Marlins with an illness on Thursday. If Kepler returns Sunday, he'll try to get out of a 2-for-27 slump before the playoffs begin. The 32-year-old ex-Twin has struggled to a .215/.300/.384 line with 17 homers, 51 RBI, 57 runs scored, and three stolen bases in 471 plate appearances this season. Nick Castellanos will take Kepler's place in right field and bat seventh on Saturday against right-hander Mick Abel, formerly a member of the Phillies.

Kevin Gausman to Pitch "in Some Capacity" on Sunday
Kevin Gausman will pitch "in some capacity" against the Tampa Bay Rays on Sunday, manager John Schneider told reporters. The Blue Jays will need a victory in the regular-season finale to lock up the American League East, so Gausman will likely make a normal start. Toronto entered play on Saturday with the same record as the division-rival New York Yankees (92-68). However, New York has since pulled a half-game ahead thanks to an afternoon win over the Baltimore Orioles. The Blue Jays, who own the tiebreaker over the Yankees, will have to beat the Rays on Saturday to enter Sunday atop the division and control their own destiny. Despite a 10-11 record, Gausman has helped pitch the Jays to the playoffs this season. The 34-year-old has notched a 3.47 ERA with a 1.03 WHIP and 184:48 K:BB over 31 starts and 189 2/3 innings.

Brett Baty Lands on 10-Day Injured List With Oblique Strain
Brett Baty (oblique) on the 10-day injured list with a strained right oblique and recalled infielder Jared Young from Triple-A Syracuse. Baty's IL placement doesn't come as a surprise after he injured his oblique during a 6-2 loss to the Miami Marlins on Friday. Manager Carlos Mendoza admitted afterward that it could end Baty's regular season. While Baty might be able to return from the IL sometime in October, it'll be a moot point if the Mets don't overtake the Cincinnati Reds for the NL's last wild-card spot this weekend and then advance in the playoffs. The Mets have collapsed over the past couple of months, but Baty slashed a superb .313/.375/.504 between the start of August and the end of his season. He'll wrap up the campaign with a .254/.313/.435 line, 18 homers, 50 RBI, 53 runs scored, and eight stolen bases in 130 games and 432 plate appearances. Defensively, Baty spent most of 2025 splitting time at third base with Mark Vientos. The Mets started Ronny Mauricio at the hot corner on Saturday.

Cade Horton Goes on 15-Day Injured List With Fractured Rib
Cade Horton (rib) on the 15-day injured list with a fractured right rib, retroactive to Sept. 25. The team recalled left-hander Jordan Wicks from Triple-A Iowa in a corresponding move. Horton exited what proved to be his final regular-season start on Sept. 23 with back soreness, and manager Craig Counsell said an MRI revealed "areas of concern" in his rib area. It wasn't regarded as a serious injury, but it worsened after Horton played catch on Saturday. The Cubs will now go without Horton for at least one playoff round, which is a significant hit after the 24-year-old rookie put together a stellar regular season. Horton finished 11-4 with a 2.67 ERA, a 1.08 WHIP, 97 strikeouts, and 33 walks over 22 starts and 118 innings. Without Horton, the Cubs figure to start Matthew Boyd, Shota Imanaga, and either Jameson Taillon or Colin Rea in their best-of-three wild-card series against the San Diego Padres.

Jazz Chisholm Jr. Exits After Hit by Pitch, X-Rays Negative
Jazz Chisholm Jr. (forearm) exited the team's 6-1 win over the Baltimore Orioles on Saturday after a hit by pitch on his left forearm. Initial X-rays came back negative, but Chisholm still has to undergo a CT scan. The Yankees brought in Jose Caballero to run for Chisholm in the fifth inning after he finished the day 0-for-2. For now, it appears that Chisholm avoided a significant injury. If that proves to be the case, it'll be a major sigh of relief for the Yankees as the postseason approaches. Thanks in part to a career year from Chisholm, the club has already clinched a playoff berth and remains in contention for an American League East title. The 27-year-old, who became a member of the 30-30 club this season, has slashed .243/.333/.482 with 31 homers, 31 stolen bases, 80 RBI, and 75 runs scored in 530 plate appearances. Update: Chisholm's CT scan was negative, the Yankees announced.

Jhoan Duran Records His 32nd Save on Friday
Jhoan Duran notched his 32nd save of the season on Friday in a 3-1 win over his former team, the Minnesota Twins. Duran allowed two hits, but did not give up a run and struck out two in his one inning of work. The 27-year-old has been a bit shaky of late, allowing six hits and three earned runs over his last five appearances. Overall, Duran's numbers on the season are rock solid. Across 70 innings split between Minnesota and Philadelphia, Duran is 7-6 with a 2.06 ERA, 1.10 WHIP, and 80 strikeouts to go along with his career-high 32 saves.

Adley Rutschman Out of Starting Lineup on Saturday
Adley Rutschman is not in the starting lineup on Saturday for his team's game against the New York Yankees. Rutschman had started three out of four games behind the plate for Baltimore since returning on Tuesday from an oblique injury that caused him to miss more than a month. Samuel Basallo will start at catcher and bat eighth on Saturday against Yankees right-hander Cam Schlittler. Rutschman has struggled through both injuries and underperformance in 2025. Across 361 plate appearances, the 27-year-old has slashed .223/.307/.370 with nine home runs, 29 RBI, and 37 runs scored.
