Nathan Eovaldi Starting Game 2 Against Astros
1 year agoTexas Rangers right-hander Nathan Eovaldi is starting Game 2 of the American League Championship Series on Monday in Houston against the Astros as the Rangers look to take a 2-0 series lead against their division rivals. Eovaldi was strong in his 25 regular-season starts in his first year in Texas and has so far been dominant in two playoff starts this year as well, too, going 2-0 with a 1.32 ERA, .220 opponent's average, no walks and 15 strikeouts in 13 2/3 innings over the Tampa Bay Rays and Baltimore Orioles. The hard-throwing righty tossed seven shutout innings for a win over Houston On July 1 in Texas, but he gave up four earned runs in just 1 1/3 innings in his most recent start against them on Sept. 5 in Texas in his first start back from the injured list.
