Melvin Gordon III Sees 11 Touches In Week 10
2 years agoDenver Broncos running back Melvin Gordon III finished the 17-10 Week 10 loss to the Tennessee Titans on Sunday with seven rushing attempts for just 24 yards (3.4 yards per carry) while adding four catches on his six targets for 46 receiving yards. Gordon got the "start" and finished second on the team in targets after receiver Jerry Jeudy (ankle) went down with an injury early in the game. However, he was out-carried nine to seven and out-touched 12 to 11 by backfield mate Latavius Murray. The 29-year-old's receiving work was nice to see, but that will probably only continue if Jeudy misses additional time with his injury. Chase Edmonds (only three touches) could get more involved moving forward, too. In this low-scoring offense, Gordon's low-volume role makes him a volatile touchdown-dependent RB3/flex.
