2 years agoThe Atlanta Braves placed left-hander Max Fried (forearm) on the 15-day injured list (retroactive to May 6) with a strained left forearm on Tuesday and recalled left-hander Danny Young from the minors in a corresponding move. Fried will now miss at least a couple of weeks, and it's unlikely he'll be ready to return to the rotation when he's eligible on May 21. In the meantime, fantasy managers must be patient and stash him in an injured-list spot. Jared Schuster is expected to take Fried's spot in Atlanta's rotation, giving him more fantasy upside in the short term. This is already Fried's second trip to the IL in 2023, but he's been an ace when healthy, posting a 2.08 ERA (3.12 FIP), 1.08 WHIP, six walks and 25 K's in 26 innings over his five starts.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
